  1. Hello. Is it possible to redefine this without having to create a new control definition? Two of our machines use the same definition but I'd like this folder to be different. Thanks!
  2. When scrolling the operation manager using mousewheel, every time a tooltip pops up and the mouse cursor is in the tooltip window area, the scrolling is applied to the main window, not the operation manager window. Am I the only one getting mad by this? This doesn't always happen, but eventually after a short period, it does. I wonder why.
  3. Rather a pu$$y than the guy with a deep cut or burnt fingers..
  4. No such thing exist, that's for sure, but there must be something better than what I'm currently forced to use by my employer. It says "ActiveWear PU Super Lite" on the back of the glove and I spend more time picking up splinters under my skin than doing actual work. They are true chip magnets. And it seems I'm genetically so ungifted that I am not able to grow skin thick enough not to be annoyed by this all the time. Any suggestions?
  5. Hitting enter does nothing, but clicking on the viewport area seems to work.
  6. I do really hope it's just a bug that you first have to type in the new construction depth and then select it from the drop down list for it to apply. Please.
  7. Sounds familiar. I used to use Super-NURBS in high-feed milling (10000+mm/min) but eventually stopped using it and just added more stock to walls to compensate for the lack of accuracy. Without Super-NURBS it may over/undercut about half a millimeter in tight arcs whereas in NURBS mode it will slow down considerably, generating more heat and wearing up the high feed inserts. If I needed to cut an accurate 3D surface with a good surface finish, I'd turn it on. You shouldn't need to use Mastercam's smoothing with it.
  8. Does anyone else dislike the "automatic" work offset numbering mechanism in plane manager? I don't want Mastercam to manage my work offsets by default so I always have to switch it to manual. This should be an option under settings.
  9. You're right, it should remain intact. Because the button panel is already full, the dynamite icon should go to make room for this new button, who clicks it anyway instead of File->New? Or the High-speed button (and make it a darn operation Or how about a two-state ghost icon? Edit: Does an official wishlist exist somewhere? Now that I'm at it, and many of us still use "legacy" 2d-contour, how about tool diameter compensation for Toolpath Trimming?
  10. The "show only selected toolpaths" button should be three-state: do not show selected toolpaths, show selected toolpaths and show selected and post-processable toolpaths. Many of our projects contain a lot of "if tool X is broken, use this toolpath instead" toolpaths and they are ghosted by default and I don't want them to show (moving them to another toolpath group is risky since this will mess up the order) Anyone else ever wished this feature existed?
  11. I haven't tried it but aren't they just SQLite databases and thus editable with SQL statements?
  12. That's what I'm talking about! Got to try it out tomorrow, hopefully I'll get something out of it.
  13. I tried that but it doubles cutting time. Transition is just transition to the next cutting depth.
  14. I almost never use Tab to move through UI items. But I'm not a power user.
  15. I have observed that if right-clicked on a toolpath group name, collapse equals to clicking the [-] or [+], but right-clicking on an operation name and choosing collapse actually collapses every subitem in the tree.
  16. Hmm... it seems waterline IS what I used in the screenshot above.. I tried an older version whose installation is in english and it looked exactly like it! But back to the original question: does anyone know if it's actually possible to make it go ramp all the way down? Our fast feed mills are designed for ramping and it would be superior performance that way!
  17. Fingrish. I always install my software in English since it's always so much easier to find information and not spend time guessing the translations (but I admit, every Mastercam machinist should know what waterline means in the native language!!!).
  18. Sure thing, thanks But they are still in the wrong language..
  19. Which is waterline or surface finish contour? There are no icons in the help file.
  20. Well, I found out why it is making those insert-destroying "drilling" movements: they appear when total filtering tolerance is set to 0.1 but at 0.01 they do not. And if it's set to 0.01, the program won't fit in our Nintendo's memory! Edit: there seems to be no logic whatsoever in when those movements appear, but it is related to the filtering tolerance.
  21. Can I do it using some other toolpath? When using scallop, why do I get Z moves like in the picture, unless "straight" transition is used?
  22. I'm surprised at how stable the program is currently. Mastercam hasn't stopped working at all after the last update. It is dreadfully slow though; program startup, displaying the tool editor, verify... i7 just won't compute. Did they rewrite everything in .NET?
  23. Is every operation in Mastercam created using the C-hook (or NET-hook) interface or are they built statically into the executable? I'm just trying to get a grasp of how customizable Mastercam is. I have Visual Studio 2013 and am slowly trying to allocate some time to learning this side of Mastercam. I don't suppose you can customize everything, but how about these: - Change the appearance of the operation tree - Add items to the right click menu of the operation tree - Create a new toolpath called "create line using midpoint" (I REALLY NEED THIS!!!) - Add some text and images for extra information about the job and store it directly into the mcam file - Where can I find 3rd party hooks? Thanks.
  24. I can recommend Capto too. It's an excellent product used on our lathes.
