  1. I'm looking at this one: ASUS ASUS Vivobook Pro 16X Intel Core i9-13980HX Processor 2.2 GHz (36MB Cache, up to 5.6 GHz, 24 cores, 32 Threads) NVIDIA Geforce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU, with 8GB GDDR6 32GB DDR5 1 TB SSD Any glaring faults?
  2. Thanks Colin, I'll give that a shot Monday. After reading this, I realized I had completely forgotten about the actual axis combination. It's been a minute since I've done this.
  3. The group order is not a big deal. The big problem is that I can't seem to make any changes that don't get erased, due to the, "The machine does not have any valid axis combinations defined and cannot be used in a toolpath group.", message. This is what I have now, but I got the message when I saved it, so I'm assuming it is invalid for some reason.
  4. I would suggest calling Renishaw, they can help you make sure the correct macros are installed & are being called correctly. I've found their customer service to be exemplary.
  5. Yeah, these types of generalizations are rarely accurate. I don't think I personally would do well working from home, but my wife is well suited to it. I think she actually gets more done at home than when she's in the office, due to having less distractions. Everybody is different.
  6. Daniel, I'm trying to create a MD/CD/Post using this, but I'm having trouble getting the MD correct. I posted here: Could you direct me to some assistance for this?
  7. I figured out how to delete the group then reposition it & add the axis combination. But after I've created it exactly like I want it, when I click ok I get a message dialog the states "The machine does not have any valid axis combinations defined and cannot be used in a toolpath group." And it reverts to the original configuration.
  8. How can I change the order of the groups in the machine definition manager? It's set now as Machine Base/Mill Spindle Group/Table Group. What I want is Machine Base/Table Group/Mill Spindle Group. I can't figure out how to move them & if I delete the Mill Spindle Group, I can't add a group to the Machine Base. The 2nd pic is of a different machine that I already have, which is how I want the 1st one to be.
  9. I'm attempting to make a CD/MD/Post config from scratch, using the new IKE setup. This is a simple Mazak VCN700 machine. The 0,0,0 point of the machine grid is the right rear top. So the travel limits are -X= -80.0", +X= 0.0", -Y= -27.5", +Y= 0.0", -Z= -28.3", +Z= 0.0". When setting my axis limits in the machine component manager, do I use these values?
  10. Does the shading change with the selected folder?
  11. Yeah, I've noticed that as well, and it still persists thru 2022 as well. Apparently, in the merge dialog, it's just a suggestion, rather than a rule. Of course, you have to perform a save as for it to take effect, so there's that.
  12. Autocorrect has become my worst enema.
  13. These types of comments, a year after the release, is why we still haven't switched to 2023.
  14. You can add M codes in the "Code" field, of the "Segment manual entry"
  15. Try changing the Projection direction in "Guide Curve-Advanced Parameters" to Machining direction, and change the "Tool Axis Control" to Tilt angle from axis towards point.
  16. Hush, you're going to hurt someone's widdle feels and get us cancelled.
  17. Thanks to several great tips & explanations from you, a few years ago, I too use these a whole lot. There's just no down side.
  18. Yeah maybe, but I was lucky enough to grow up during an era when growing up was encouraged. Before we were required to respect everyone, regardless of whether they had earned any of it, or not. I can honestly say, I hadn't earned much, nor was I given much at that age,
  19. 64 here. My 1st manufacturing job was afternoons & weekends running a punch press in High School (1974-75), a place called Talent Metal Products in Harbor City California. This thread is making me feel a little old.
  20. I don't know, we still haven't swapped over to 2023. I've been leery.
  21. With the Verify window open; File/Options/General/Collision Checking make your selections.
  22. Yeah, single thread is, what I've always heard, the most important CPU benchmark for MasterCam.
  23. Nevermind. It turns out I just don’t have any faith. The toolpath was going to the correct spot, but my starting point needed to be further away in the Y axis. When I repositioned the start point it ran correctly.
  24. I am hoping someone can help here. We have a Mazak Variaxis i800 with a Postability post. The post has been working well for us for years, with an occasional tweak being needed. Our other 5X machine is down, so I had to reprogram a part to run on this machine. Ive attached a zip2go. At the start of the morph toolpath the machine is attempting to move to a point that appears to be 180° from "X" , which would plow thru the vise. I've never attempted this 4 axis path on this machine before, but if I change the tool axis control to 5-axis fixed angle to axis Z, it outputs close to the same code. In the image I've hidden one vise jaw & shown the path that the machine is trying to follow. The red marking is where the path should start. The green marking is where the path is trying to start Is this a post issue? test.ZIP
