  1. GCODE-- If you do a repair/re-install it should solve your association problems
  2. Toolpahs Next menu Circ tlpths Circle mill Sounds like exactly what your looking for
  3. Thermwood, a router manufacturing company is also a Mastercam re-seller in Indiana. A large portion of their machines are bought and used in the wood industry
  4. As far as comparing the post changes, if you use the cinco editor, there is a fuction called file compare the will highlight all the differences between your original post and the new modified post.
  5. If you place the file on the ftp site I'd be willing to take a look at it.
  6. Jay, Hi your online right now! ITS MY PLEASURE TO SAY HELLO AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE POSTS YOU'VE ADDED TO THIS FORUM. I read just about every topic and searched back thru threads for answers and inevitably you and James have contributed to some part of the answer. And yes I was yelling so loud that maybe you could hear me all the way from Fox Island.
  7. Guess I'll have to take Contract out of my title!?!
  8. Just joined a Union Shop. Any comments i.e. pros vs. cons?
  9. Hi All, I did and still do have a strong suspicion that "snowhacker" has a cracked cd which would totally su**! First off I've never seen the error "hasp File not found"; he hasn't returned to the forum or replied to my e-mail;..Sooo V9 is out there already? I just started a new job today and their still running v8.1.1 I just spent 2 days teaching for my reseller showing off all the great new bells and whistles in v9 and now I can't even use 'em. Total bummer!!!!! Hopefully I'll be able to show them the benefits of High Speed High feed tweaking. First though they want me to tweak posts and they gave me their hardest part thats already a week late. Talk about into the fire. Which also brings up an Idea for a new thread so...
  10. Working with family is tough no more so than in a small mom&pop shop. Worked for my brother for almost ten years. felt like I was locked in a closet. When I finally left my career went thru the roof. Didn't realize how much I knew, learned, taught myself....however it took almost three years for my brother to start talking to me again and he still resents the fact that I "deserted him" even thou working for him was killing me inside. Sooo, My advise is don't work with family and keep them at home!!!
  11. Sorry I don't know anyone in SoCal that does that. But hey I'm not from down there.
  12. You know I think its funny you guys all go Hmm.. And make cracks. Did anyone think to e-mail this snowhacker and remind him that software piracy is illegal and carries a stiff fine... or maybe even include a link to the bsa in their e-mail like I did??? Maybe they're unaware of the potential consequences??????
  13. Yes use your solid model. File Convert to stl format and sve in the data directory. Then when you run verify instead of box check file and then a little lower open up your stl file. Then when you run the simulation it will look like you are machining the casting. Hope that helps. Will
  14. yes it was the rotate cw versus ccw. I'm using mphaas with a bunch of custom configs. I actually found the answers I needed by searching the forum history. Special thanks to Dave Thomson, James Meyette, gcode, toby, and someone named DennisN for their previous input on the same topic. Sorry, I should have searched first then posted.
  15. Hi all, I'm usally not one to be asking questions...but i'm in ahurry andhave several tasks to accomplish right away so here goes. I'm writting a part on a 4th axis rotary rotating about x. I thought i had everything set right in my post but it seems like the rotations are backwards. i.e. 37.541 should be at -37.561.... also rather than going beyond 180. or beyond 360 plus on the bottomside of my part i'm getting -212.814 instead of 147.814 so what gives? is there a setting i'm not covering in my post? I feel confident all my tool planes are set up right. Any help would be appreciated!! Will
  16. I'm pretty sure the Washington reseller Cimtech has a post for the Variax. Contact Steve Kidd @ (253)922-8770
  17. I have to agree with MFGENG about upgrading to version 9. Some of the greatest features in version 9 are the multiaxis tool vector control tools. Having been involved in 5 axis programming for more than the last 5 years I have to say that version 9 has greatly improved not only part quality but especially the ease of programming. as for posts try the generic 5 ax post that comes with router. You might be able to get it from your re-seller.
  18. I have not posted in a while cause I too was laid off but with the help of my local reseller I've been able to find contract work to keep me busy till something permanent comes along. On the topic of piracy it really turns my spindle!!! I once had a little mom and pop shop of my own and watched myself get underbid by unehical competitors left and right. I'd think in these times that a valuable service for re-sellers to provide would be to up unsolicited sales calls at none customer shops and go on a pirate hunt. Last spring you couldn't turn on the radio without hearing an ad for the BSA but now nothing. I personally would sing a hearty "Serves you right!!" to hear of more pirates getting busted, computers seized, heavy fines, and shut down. Software piracy is THEFT of intellectual property!! Also people who have a grip about the way cnc software handles their upgrade costs can go whine to someone else. That revenue goes towards R&D to develop an even better software package that makes YOUR job easier, more efficient, and more profitable there by giving you more free time outside of work, possibly better pay, and greater job satisfaction. Sorry to rant, just my 3.14159 cents Will Slota
  19. Has anybody noticed that in version 9, when posting an additional file is generated with the file extension .err? is this due to the "newglobal" variable in the debugging section of the post or possibly somehow related to using the update c-hook on version 8 posts? Any input would be appreciated. Thanx, Will
  20. All agree that this is the greatest on-line resource for mastercam info but as for any cadcam I seriously doubt it.
  21. As far as downgrading your sim you can modify the executable associated with the mill 8.1.1 icon but you really should talk to cnc or another reseller about that.
  22. The best training usually is from your reseller. Plus I believe Mastercam is the number one cam package taught at commumnity/ technical colleges.
  23. I don't believe rhino is a solid sodeler. It is nurbs based with all kinds of surface tools. Goto www.rhino3d.com and look at some samples. I think you can also download a trial version that is only limited by 30 saves. As far as organic shapes go I use rhino to run my microscribe to collect data off of peoples feet (a cast of their feet) and recreate the shape for custom ankle foot orthotics (braces).
