  1. How far do you want to go? Like Gcode I have a Hicell C and Y axis Axis substitution(C and Z), Polar face, position with C and output Three axis. I have old Ver 9 stuff I can shoot a PDF of a chapter if you like. Have Ver X stuff also. Ver X in my eyes is well worth it. Toolpanes seem easier to create in Ver X
  2. Did the imported file contain special WCS planes?
  3. I think the wits of each shop is what separates them from each other. I think some simple base processes can come about, but it's the experience and thought patterns that create inovative ways to machine work pieces.
  4. Hey Louis,Good project,Sounds like something I need to do. Are you working with solids or wire frame? If it is solids, Suppress the .015 fillet in the corner and do not put a fillet in the tool defintion. Then chain the inner edge of the dove tail. If you want to model the fillet in the work piece and the tool, create a curve or a line at the Quadrant of the Fillet on the work piece. Then chain the curve or line. Hope this helps. Put file on the FTP site,I am sure someone tackle it.
  5. We have a 310 machine,When we ran a software upgrade with new generator setting,it runs pretty good now.Call up the factory and I think the updated software is free.
  6. Had One yesterday on a lathe part off operation. I key in the point using the fast point entry. MR1-SP2
  7. Is the "P" modal in the Control and in the Post?
  8. Move your "dwell$" in between where you want it
  9. Can you right click in Oper manager and "edit selected operations".I believe that there is a re-number tools in there.
  10. Any body having problems rolling or un-rolling geometry? Imported a file from Inventor and tried to Unroll a spline. It unrolls one half fine and the other half gets unrolled like in a Mirror operation. So I started from scratch in Ver X MR1 SP2 creating a rectangle with fillets on the corners(top Cplane, 2-d, Z0 setting), roll it up, looks good. Then try to unroll it and ends up with the same thing. Works fine in Ver 9.1. Was trying Rolldie toolpath also, Kicks me out when I apply the path.?
  11. ropteach, most parts have some type of tolerance, in some cases where it is not critical you could use the same size tool no problem. If you are trying to hold a finish and a size tolerance, you need to have some room for adjustments if the slot becomes to big.
  12. I should of read your post futher, sorry, I know what you are trying to do. You trying to create a G10 table to preset the TLO's through the program, you going to key in you tool measurments through a Misc real. I think I have a post that does that, let me dig it up. I want to try to access the tool values when you create a tool and try to pick it up there. Jim you might want to put these values below the M30 in the program. That way if the operator adjusts the TLO the program, the G10 will not over write it. The first time you run the program the operator just cursors down to the G10 section of the program and run's it once.Either way will work
  13. Let me dig up my advanced post class stuff, I will look at it over the week end. What is the output you want?
  14. Ran into this this morning, just re-installed the Hasp manager and it cleared right up.
  15. Cancel your offset, then go home T0400 G28U0W0M05 M01
  16. Depends how old the machine is, whether is stages tools or not.You going to find a lot of response to this one. What I have seen, if the Machine tool does not pre-stage tools,it will return to tool change position, orient the spindle, find that T2 is in the spindle,Depending on what information is in ..... It might go back to the part,? spindle may start, it might not. If the Machine tool pre-stages tools, depending on the logic of the controller, it might lock up the tool changer,it might switch tools, it might alarm out.
  17. Just type in as .oo5 in the feedrate rate prompt, I believe you can set up a switch in the post to inform the machine to output a G95 or G94 (what ever your control needs) and let the machine figure it. I have a client that does that, just one of his things he likes to do. He says that way if the operator changes the RPM, the feedrate follows. (Like the lathes)
  18. 1 degree, 47 min 24 sec Convert it to a decimal of degree 1.79
  19. I also have a complete work book with many examples
  20. Depending on the control, its parameter #701,702.(Fanuc, thay can use any parameter they want) These values are also in mm. What I do is manually skim turn a Dia, without moving the X axis, stop the spindle, measure the dia and go to the X geo offset, high light the tool you are setting, and type in MX 2.256, then press "input"(the dia you just measured). Now flip out the tool probe, touch off the tool and compare the difference between the manually skim cut and what the probe says.(look at the offset values before and after in the Geo offset) Take the difference between the two, convert it to mm and add or subtract it from the proper parameter(check your manual that came with machine if you have it). The skim cut and the touch probe should match pretty close.
  21. I offer a 3-d day basic class, and a 64 hour basic class for X. I hear it both ways, "I don't have time for 64 hours of training, the company can not afford to have me in class that long away from the shop".Then I hear "That's to much to fast, I need to move more slowly". Both statements have their place. I found out when I run a moblie lab(training at your site)they do not have to leave the shop and we can use parts they want to machine as practice examples. Some companies only want to cover certain features, some want to cover the whole gamit. Some want to cover creating geometry, some just want to import models and run tool paths. Actually, Ver X has great features that stream line the seat time,I will let the Ver 9 er's create geometry the way they are used to, then show different techquines to do the same thing. I say the besy way is the way you understand. I throw as many different ways to do something at you, and you use the way you understand. Depends if your a 2-d,3-d,4-5 axis,Millturn or all of the above shop,.The boss rarely want to pay for the whole gamit. Try night classes at the local college. I do not have all answers
  22. I have ran a machine like like the one you describe.I have did not use Mastercam to code it. I believe it would be worth the time to research a post through the dealer or have one configured. I am sure someone else has had the same question. I'll bet they have a post that is real close.
