  1. I sent you an E-mail Hope it helps
  2. Looked at the file. Question #1 Is this a Millturn part? If it is, do you have a "Y" axis? If not, what axis are you rotating about?
  3. Can I see the file? Is this a Ver X post or one that came from Ver 9?
  4. Send me the file. Filter duplicates on? Create arcs at each position(normal to the tool plane) and then pick them to drill(enities selection). It should pick up each rotation by the arcs Do you have the Rotary button on? Pick 3 axis Check Machine def and make sure you have a rotary set correctly. Hope this helps
  5. Yes I have experienced this. seen it on some engraving. Try changing the control def to output full arcs, not quad breaks.
  6. Dennis, send it to me. I'll code it and send it back. Let me know what material you are using and a sketch or print or something for tolerances and finish requirements.
  7. Been having real good luck Lathe and Live tooling so far. Good code to boot. Humm....Send the file over or put it on the FTP if you can,I'll look at it
  8. Are you just interested in running the cap only? There are 2 solids in the file. If so, Rough it out with Axis substitution, then as John suggested, Roll Die or 4-axis swarf. I Can apply one window if you like? Perfect Mill-turn Part.
  9. I have had this issue also, I have had it work OK with just lathe paths, but any live tooling operations it is a hit and miss.
  10. I have seen this also, Just use you ATL-arrow keys.Seems to settle down then.
  11. I have written a book on this. I will send you a sample Chapter
  12. What positions are you talking about? What level?
  13. I am glad you have an open mind. Ever think about the more people that certify would help open up the eyes of employers?
  14. So I take it John, if this certification program creates a bar that is accepted for Individuals, Large corporations Such as Boeing, and or Navy for example to affirm that their programmers or would be hired programmers meet some type of criteria, you won’t be taking the test.? So if you are a shop owner, and you are talked into purchasing Mastercam to be competitive, and you have a investment, How would you know that are not being feed a line in the interview process when you hire the person that will operate the software? What if a pool if qualified candidates where created that had a certain level of competencies that was accepted world wide in Mastercam and employer’s called them? You have to start somewhere. I wish you Luck in your endeavor
  15. Try this http://www.mastercam.com/TeachersStudents/...on/Default.aspx
  16. I have been using X with error free code for about 3 months now on the Millturn machine we have here.
  17. Polar all the way,Cleaner, less code, better looking finishes. There are limitations to this, the C axis can only coordinate with the X axis so fast(if running a polar face). This is also an option on the control. If you have a Y axis, it will be more accurate than using the C and X axis combo. Only draw back in the Y axis is over travel issues. Nice thing about the C axis polar is I can run a larger dia using C and X axis combo. Cutter comp is possible in both applications.
  18. Do you have a file we could look at?
  19. I have experience with this. I can give you more information later when I get out of class.
