  1. I use 2 G71 lines. code: G71U.02R0.02 G71P110Q120U.002W.001F.003 N110G0X.188 G42G1Z.05 G1Z-.1875 G1X.375Z-.2951 G1X.38Z-.35 N120G40G1X.475F.02 I think (I'll have to check monday) in the 1st G71 line U sets the depth of cut & R sets the amount of stock for the last pass that follows the actual geometry. quote: I gotta say though, if you wind up doing any "heavy" rough you might want to turn it back on otherwise you can have too much stock for the finish tool at the cut depth transition points. +1 Taking that last pass leaves a nice even amount of stock so the finish tool holds up better. JM2C Edit: That is on Hardinge with a Fanuc 18T
  2. The threads are listed in chronilogical order. The threads with the most recent posts are at the top. By posting a "bump" to a thread you are moveng it to the top. You don't have to actualy bump any post to a thread will move it up. People use the "bump" and it is commonly understood that they just want more input. Does that make it any clearer? HTH
  3. Say you ask a question & some time goes by & you have not recieved any responses. The "Bump" post sends your question back to the top of the list where everyone usualy starts looking. HTH edit: yea what he said
  4. We have a seat that was V9 Design only & our hasp will run X in design mode.
  5. quote: Anthony that is nice of you to want to give it away but Oxxxxf if you dont have V5 to begin with you cant look for spelling mistakes. From Cimcos download page ... quote: This section contains the latest CIMCO software service releases. If you are not a registered customer, these versions will function as 30 days time limited evaluation versions. Please note that license keys issued more than 12 months ago will not work with these service releases. Registered customers should contact [email protected] to extend their service period.
  6. quote: I just got two of them in a box of computer junk at an auction (FLX-3003c) but I can't find drivers for them...not even at the manufacturers website. I guess they are too old. Anybody know how to get them? I'd try driverguide.com. I've never looked for Spaceball drivers, but I have found a lot of old sound card & modem drivers there that I couldn't find anywhere else. HTH
  7. I think you have to set up a printer that will output hpgl & set it to print to file. We use the WinLine driver to plot to an Calcomp plotter & have done that before. HTH
  8. quote: I wise man once told me "you can't learn anything when you are the only one talking" so why is it membership status on this forum is based on how much you say and not on how much you have read? IMHO This forum is users (and CNC Software and resellers) helping users. How much you have read furthers your understanding (which is a good thing ) but Your "status" is rated by how much help you give.
  9. As for your surface to solid conversion issue I haven't got a clue. But there is info about an update to the X demo here
  10. Steve FYI teh started out as a common misspelling of the, but in pop culture its used as a... way to emphasize. Kinda like the "el" or "la" in spanish.
  11. Kinda like the Cimco w/ V9? You can copy the cimco (cedit) directory in C:Mcam9CommonEditors to the same directory in the X tree & have MCX use that as the default editor. HTH
  12. I think... he's using them to create an infinite number of work offsets (on a machine that doen't support enough offsets). His G10 is setting a location to run a pos. then a second G10 would efectively change to another "fixture" offset. If I remeber right there was another post talking about this a few weeks ago. edit: here it is. At least that's what I think hes doin.
  13. I woulda thought xform - translate - all - entities., but I haven't tried it yet in X. That doesn't work?
  14. I'm pretty sure there is a section in the Mach/Control Def PDF about adding a post to a control def (on the Mastercam Website). (I haven't had a chance to try it yet tho) Mastercam.com - Support - Multimedia M/C Def PDF I don't remeber if the videos there cover that or not. HTH
  15. Can you list an example of the way it is posting & what you need it to be? Edit: Doh!
  16. quote: G0O STUFF Have you guys been playin in Thad's sticky again?
  17. On a FANUC control I think Johns right G53 to cancel all Fix offsets then just the XY coords you want. On our FATAL(sp? ) you tell it E0 to cancel fix offsets?
  18. quote: As far as "class" goes, I've never been accused of having much and after reading four or five dozen threads BEFORE posting, didn't feel it was a prerequisite here, sorry. LOL Dayum he already knows me!!!
  19. quote: The computer had (2) 8in floppies. One for the EXE file and one for storage. No mouse , no hard drive and a 4 color monitor I used something like that in the late 80s early 90s to prog & run some wire EDMs. It was an NCR box to run Bridgepoorts EZ EDM. but we did have a digitizeing tablet that had some mouselike functionality. When I started programming everything in the shop @ 1999 the Engineering Dept was run by a Mac guy (...not that there's anything wrong with that ) but at the time you couldn't find anything new coming out for the Macs. When we finally upgraded went to MC 7.
  20. You should also grab the Machine/Control Def PDF. from Jeremy's link. Ithink the section about moving theese files to a network loc. details what you have to do. HTH
  21. Ron Just so I understand... I save the program to the flash memory as the file # without a file extension & no % start and end of file characters. Switch the I/O to chanel #4. Then just use the std O#### (prog no) I/O READ EXECUTE to load the program into main memory. Just want to check if my this looks like the right procedure. The machine being in Ga. It will be hard to experiment, trying to convey what the operator needs to do & understanding them when they tell me what is happening.
  22. Ok James I understand that. My question now is what do I need to do to load the program from the ATA card into controllers system memory? I want the operator to be able edit the program (in some of the macro progs I write) For ex #500=.750 (Stock Dia) and I remeber you saying earlier that to edit the program on the card you had to do it on a PC not at the control. So can I transfer the file from the program from the card to the controllers main memory?
  23. I googled AutoCad & BOM & found this (amoung many others) web page I haven't tried anyting like that so I don't know how easy it is to set up the links. HTH
