  1. Kevin, Yes. It does the samething for me, no arc just lines.
  2. I usually not use flowline toolpath. I use surface finish project from an NCI path, like that i could control more accurately the movement
  3. Predator Software is a very strong DNC Here is the link www.predator-software.com
  4. Kevin I have uploaded (slydman_4thaxisquestion.mcx) you will find another solid that i created from the original solid to compare. The way that has to be machined is on your 4th axis setup as you described, you need to make a 2d XY movement to follow the shape curve than make a rotation 90deg and redo the same movement. You will get exactly what you need
  5. quote: Turn your screen chord height size down to .0001 in Mastercam. Is this setting will affect the speed of regeneration? Espacially when in dynamic rotate mode?
  6. sorry my post just came in too late Thanks for response Pete
  7. I just tried it also, and seem to work find. But i lost the history of the part , so may be on a very complex part (i mean on a 3d surfaces) it could be a problem. Newbieguy, can you put the part on the FTP's site? I would like to try it my computer.
  8. Many thanks to all of you guys. Many thanks for this site and to the people who made it grows up
  9. quote: [take the top chain and offset it in and down 10° by 2 deep] You can also use the top chain, and on contour toolpath inside the depth cuts parameter your will checkbox 'tapered walls' and put the same angle as you tapermill. Like that you can set any depth and the tool will offset automatically
  10. Tim, Have you tried to look into option when window is activated and unchecked 'reverse direction of inner chain'. Sometime it works, some other time no depending of you chain
  11. Thanks for the info John
  12. Hi everyone, I am trying to set mastercam to make it a priority of any other program running. I am talking about on the task manager, we could set manually by right-click the priority to high. What i would like to do is make it automatic when it opens mastercam. Thanks for any help
  13. John, quote: The CD IS the best way to go I too, have used the webdownload but I generally do a CD install once I have them Do i need to completely uninstall the webdownloaded version MR2 prior to reinstall MR2 with the CD's?
  14. My computer manager was telling me, that kind of issue could be fixed inside mastercam core itself, so at the end, it's a mastercam minor bug. quote: Yes, practice some patience. Patience... i have it a lot... my boss no! Thanks
  15. Hi, Just to specically explain how mastercam crash. When i make a backplot with many big toolpath (15 or 20), the scrolling bar of the toolpath window take about 15sec to appear (witch is normal) during this period of time, if i click on the 'run' button( or somewhere else in this area) then mastercam crash. Is anybody has an idea on how to fix that?
  16. Hi I have a lot of crashing problem also, then i realized that. If click on an icon (in mastercam) more than one or two time, and i don't let the system run, then mastercam crash. After comparing with my reseller, we realized that. He had the same problem. We don't think about a bug on mastercam. My work contain a lot of toolpath, sometime 500, in the same file and it slowdown a lot espacially from when i installed MCAM X2MR2 My sysytem is pentium 4 3.80Ghz with 2Go of ram and my video card is quadro fx1400.
  17. I would be happy if CNC software add this kind of feature. Just like that in the air, chook (VB script)could probably handle that.
  18. On a seperate file, i create curve on all edges, then i keep on screen all arc only(by hidding all entities except arc) and visually i can see witch arc are smaller and i analyse them. Sometime, i get some spline curve, but 95% of the time, i get arc. This is the best way i found.
  19. Sorry, it delete all blanked on the active and visible level
  20. From DavidB quote: If you have deleted all visible entities and the level manager says there is still entities thats because something is blanked on that level.Unblank it and delete it also. If you look in Topic: Deleting blanked entities You will find this chook "delblankentvis.dll", it delete all entities on the active and visible level. I use it a lot and works find

Matt quote: I've been using NC Plot instead. It's backplot only, but it'll handle subs, Macro B, and multiple work offsets. Does it handle 4 axis like B0 throught B359 too and showing them in the real orientation?
  22. quote: ... to set it so the errors go to "file" and... Does it make a lot of garbage file?
  23. I agree with you Hardmill, but i have a ton of program that i am using facemill 90deg from V9 when i open them i need to convert them. I resolved it by cheating the tool. Outside diameter add .000001 to the value and taper angle 89.9999 thanks [ 05-29-2007, 01:34 PM: Message edited by: Slydman ]
