Most number of ops in one MC file??

Not to start a "mine is bigger than yours" argument.......

 

I have just past 400 toolpath ops on my current project and have at least another 150 to go. One part, no fixtures or subsequent ops.

 

I regularly get past 150, but this one takes the cake. So what is the biggest file others have worked on??

About 70 - 75 was the most I ever done in one setup on one part. (VMC)

I hear size dosn't matter it is how you use them that counts.

I've seen a V9 file that was over 1100 OPs.

My personal best is a V9 file with about 350.

The file started crashing and I had to break it up.

The ruffing OP was 350 and the finish op was 200

so It took 550 OPs in 2 files to build the part.

Just guessing, but I think my biggest X file to date is probably about 200 Ops

I've gotten up to 45 or so in one op and had a total of 100 - 110 between a couple of ops in one file

How does your verify work?Mine gets a little lazy & sloppy after 400 ops.Especially If you throw a lot of 5 axis stuf in there

5 axis Haas - 25-30 tools average.I put in more than 30 they have to hand load tools.

my personal best was 268 I beleive (I think this was in version 8, may have been version 7 even), but since working here I've seen several in upwards of of the 800-900 mark.

 

Subgroups in X are a lifesaver!!!

Have only been using MC for about 2 mos now, but my FIRST one (still tweeking and adding probing)is 176

(so far), and it's a relatively small part (for us).

Someone I know did a 5 axis hydroplane propeller. It had two different configurations in one file (there were differences in only about 60 of the operations). The file had 908 operation. I almost lost it when I saw that. I think the most I've done was around 200.

I frequently have around 200 ops in a file. I have no idea of the most I've had, but I always try to keep the number of ops to a minimum with multiple pockets or contours, surfaces etc. in one operation.

Th most I done in one program is 130~140 operations. The most tools was either 57 or 58.

I just did a part with 121 ops in one operation,(the most for me) but that is wayyy more than normal, most of our parts top out at 10. dosent seem like so mush in this forum.

jesus im spoiled rotten ....most i think i had was 100 or so on an okuma horizontal with 20 hydraulic manifolds parts on each face of a 4 sided tombstone and that took like 2 days to program..setup and prove out...but once done she was a sweet one.

It was in X and I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO gald I had X because I could create subgroups which is a HUGE plus IMHO.
