My guess -It's some kind of Gibbs, Surfcam crash.

we got power up in the saginaw area but I guess detroit is out

NERC is pointing to a plant in Ohio, but who knows. Most of our area has power back, but we're being told to conserve.

I was wondering about that when I heard about this yesterday..

Our area, Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge, lost power around 4:15PM EST yesterday. Power returned at different times. For example, power came back on at my place at 3:30AM this morning but Allan's power returned around 6PM yesterday evening...lucky @#$%&!

The last time they had a big blackout on the east coast, the birthrate was way up 9 months later.

No day off in my part of Connecticut today, but we had a nice power surge yesterday. The network crashed, but at least all the machines got by O.K.

they reported a 580 volt surge on our 440 lines

amazingly nothing blew, except the hub Im hooked to for the network

Back to normal, back at work. Power on earlier in certain areas but at my Condo power on 1/2 hour ago.

 

Niagara power plant grid overloaded.

Speaking of which, I still got no running water at home. Work does. Other areas got water, but my home is on high ground. Hopefully when I get back home everything's O.K.

Just got power back in Plainview,Long Island,N.Y. at about 1:30 this afternoon.

Our power was out for about 5mins then back to normal. We're on the west side of Michigan. I didn't even realize how bad it was until my wife came home several hours later and asked if I had seen the news.

Well back last year the whole City of Jacksonville, Florida was shut down for 6 to 8 hours because of a squrriel grounding out. It cause a chain reaction that put some people without power for up to 3 days. I was lucky we where next to a sub station and was only out for like 2 hours. It sucks but it is only going to get worse as the demand grows and the ways to make it better do not cqatch up.

 

We need to look to more efficent way of getting it from point a to point b.

We got our power back yesterday around 1:30pm. The lines at gas stations and stores (buying ice and water) were pretty bad. Got the day off but that didn't stop us from coming in and working today!

I also worked today:) And as far as the power outage goes I doubt Mastercam will have a patch for it.lol
