Microsoft mouse not working properly

Hi all,

Well the 3 button std microsoft mouse with centre scroll wheel was working ok last week.....now when in mcam and the centre wheel is rolled it zooms out, and if rolled in the other way it zooms out further.

So plenty of out but no in...

PC not on network so no ms updates.

Still running X5 mu1 and i'm *sure* nothing has been changed since the weekend.

Anyone have any ideas?

Is it a wireless mouse? If so did you check the battery? Microsoft Wireless Mouse have always given fits Logitech all the way for years. Every Microsoft Mouse someone has had I have trained or dealt with has had problems.

^^^^^ What JParis said. A mouse is not something that Microsoft does well. Logitech is the most compatible mouse that I have found.

It does work ok (scroll in and out) in autocad and other software loaded on the pc. It's just mcam...

I had an MS Mouse. Gave it to one of my kids. It did weird stuff. Logitech all the way.

I had the same problem moving to a win 7 64 bit machine. Install the latest intellipoint software and it should work fine. I believe I had to look in device manager under the hardware ID to figure out what model it even was since it has no markings on it other than "Microsoft." It works fine after updating it.

true.. but I'm paid to produce gcode.. not beat lousy hardware into submission

... and EVERY MS mouse I ever tried put up a real good fight

Same problem here, &$%# can the intellipoint software and re-install it as a generic mouse and it'll work fine.

I went through 5 mice before I found one I like and works, I ended up with a logitech mx mouse cost near $100 but ergo design and works great even through walls and floors(if that matters) and on any surface.

Downloaded the intelipoint drivers and I get to keep my cheap sh!t set-up

Just for all the people touting the Logitech mice... I have a $100 Logitech wireless mouse at home and it sometimes does the exact same thing. Wheel zooms out no matter which way you roll the wheel. I have updated the drivers. The only way to get it to stop is re-open the file I am working on.
