We are getting a Mazak Integrex J200S

We just purchased one of these machines today, should be here in a few weeks.

 

is anyone using Mastercam to program it?

 

Pros/Cons.

Mazak = conversational control.

I wont be programming this machine.

 

The CNC shop only knows how to use Mastercam, so it would be beneficial to stick with MC.

As they don't use Powermill

I haven't used  a mastercam to program but i used mazatrol and nx to one.

IMO as long as it is single path (upper turret only), MC will do well. MC + Vericut would be better. If multi path, no comment.

We have 5 I200S machines. 3 with smooth x controls 2 with matrix 2 controls.

all programmed with MC.

Am I getting this wrong or it states that only 4 axes can be machined simultaneously and 5 axis is 3+2?

The J machines is only a positional B axis. No full 5 axis contouring

Fantastic! You'll love that machine. If it's like the ones I've had my hands on (all e and I but practically the same machine) it'll interpolate a circle to tenths.

 

I have programmed them at the panel and with CAM software. I have only used mcam on vertical e machines. My posts come from Postability and I have been pleased with their work.
