  1. We are currently planning an MU1 release around the September time frame, but in the mean time we will be responding to issues via the use of Service Packs and the new Automatic Update Feature on an as needed basis. As Pete Mentioned earlier, if there is something keeping you from using X7 please make sure that you have contacted your reseller and/or us here at CNC Software to ensure we are are aware of the issue. KKccadcam - See the post on SP1 that I just posted for some additional information on the availability of the download.
  2. We have made Mastercam X7 SP1 available for download through the Automated Update Feature. When you start X7 you should see an update notification or you can use the Update Mastercam option under the Help Menu or use the Check for Updates option in the Mastercam X7 program group under your start menu. For more information on the Automatic Updates feature please refer to the X7 WhatsNew.pdf file. Mastercam X7 SP1 address a handful of issue and is available to ALL Mastercam X7 users. The list of items can be seen in the attached HTML file. The Mastercam Products Download page will be update with the X7 SP1 download files on Monday June 3rd. A note about the Automatic Update Feature: This feature will download the appropriate SP1 exe file based on your operating system to your c:\users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Temp\Mastercam X7 folder [where <UserName> is your pc login name] in case you cancel the process after a download or need to execute it on another system. We are in the process of making these updates smaller and more streamlined as we move forward using this mechanism. Thank you for choosing Mastercam! MastercamX7ServicePack1ReadMe.html
  3. All, Sorry I'm behind a bit here but we did remove the testing requirement for SP1 so it is now available to the general user base. We did email resellers on this, forgot to include the beta testers. Sorry! The official announcement of SP1 will be made via the normal media outlets on Monday. The update is available through the update process now. It will also be available via the products page of the website on Monday. Now as far as where the download ends up via the update manager - c:\users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Temp\Mastercam X7 [where <UserName> is your PC login name]. this same location with have the update service log file and the update service readme. The file name would be one of the following based on your OS. mastercamX7-sp1-x64.exe mastercamX7-sp1-x86.exe I apologize for not getting a posting up sooner and for forgetting to include the beta testers on the release email.
  4. For those crashing what operating system are you running? If windows 7 are your running 32bit?
  5. The Mastercam X7 downloads on the website ARE the actual released version. If you download them and install them nothing else is needed. Then you can download the add-ons you need or want.
  6. Can you send the part to [email protected] please. Also was this a X6 part or something new? If it's an existing part from a previous version, have tried editing the tool or re-selecting a new tool? Not sure exactly what is going on but I'll ask around.
  7. as far as what to look for in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CNC Software, Inc.\Mastercam X7\GUI Registry key is if you start to see the numbers of the resize or states going above 100 and you really don't have many toolbars displayed, this may be a sign of a problem. As best we can tell right now it is tied to changing MTB files or toolbar states. Sometimes the resize or maximize/minimize will trigger the GUI key growing or changing toolbar states. It doesn't happen all the time so reproducing it can be difficult. Normally the speed degradation and crashing will occur when these keys get to 1000 range. The only fix right now is to delete the GUI key. A problem if you spent a ton of time saving your layout. But if you customize your layout and then save it - creating a MTB file and then making it your default this might be helpful. We are working on a solution and I will update everyone as soon as I know more. BTW, we just duplicated this in house after days of trying.
  8. Make sure X7 is closed, go into your my mcamx7 folder and delete mwMachSim.ini and then restart Mastercam and the above dialogs should be gone. Migration will copy these 4 .ini files to your X7 install and these are causing the issue. FYI, this was tested numerous times during beta and until a few weeks ago we hadn't seen an inhouse machine with the problem and we only had 2 inhouse so far with the issue. I haven't chased it down enough to see exactly what in the .ini is causing the issue and how it got that way, but these .ini files were the culprit every time someone encountered it so far.
  9. Robert, Thanks for getting back to me and trying the things I mentioned. Let me know what you find. Feel free to email directly to [email protected] if it's easier for you.
  10. Smrk, do you do a lot of resizing of the Mastercam window? We are chasing something reported for a tester that was seeing their registry entries under the GUI topic grow very large as he re-sized the main Mastercam window and this was causing a slow down in the Mastercam application as well. We are still working to reproduce this in house. Seeing you are comfortable in the registry, keep an eye on this key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CNC Software, Inc.\Mastercam X7\GUI This is where the states for dialogs and ribbons are stored and normally none is more then about 70 for each section. If you see this growing really large please let us know. It very well could be tied to custom toolbar states or something similar. We are still chasing it thought and trying to duplicate it.
  11. Sandybar, Saving files with no extensions is something the team is aware of and addressing this is in their backlog. Not sure when we will see it, but they are on it.
  12. Robert try deleting your config again and run for a day or two without customizing the config and see if this issue continues. If not, start customizing the config a small piece at a time until your experience the problem again. It might not be something in config that is causing the issue, but worth a try. Are you receiving the crash report dialog? If so please send them in and include your email address. Also if you crash and send in the report let us know at [email protected] so we can have someone dig it up and check it out. Also check what other apps are running at the time and check your Mastercam event log as well. We need a clue as to what the trigger is. Could be something with Virus Scan software to some other setting or something in our application. Keep working with Trevor as well as he will also keep us in the loop.
  13. couple other things....are you talking about the toolpath display is disappearing or the whole part disappearing? If the part how large and how many entities? There is a setting in config under the screen settings for number of entities for dynamic rotation. The 3D devices never used this value, but now they do.
  14. Bridgeportboy, Are you using classic backplot or the new Mastercam Simulator? What 3D connexions device do you have? What are the driver versions of your graphics card and 3D connexions software? Are you using a standard config or something you moved up from X6? I can not duplicate this on my system, but I will ask around to see if anyone else knows about it or has an answer. Peon, I loaded some DWG files and it worked just fine as well.
  15. Do you have a screen saver active? Have tried running a standard config file by renaming your current one and letting mastercam create one?
  16. Jeremy is there anything else useable in the event log prior to the blend_3_surfs being called?
  17. Are you using the Accurate Zoom function?
  18. Kevin, You can define collision checking and cutting for each part of the tool independently. Make sure to spend some time in the What's new and the help file reviewing the new Verify, there is a ton of stuff in there.
  19. LCL, can you contact your reseller or our support team for some assistance on this one. Probably needs some additional questions asked and answered. What have you done different or what change from the last time you checked these?
  20. Make sure you are looking at the Mastercam X7 folder under your Start/programs menu (see attached image). It is inside the utilities folder there. If you want to execute it direct you can find McamAdvConfig.exe in the Program Files\mcamx7 folder
  21. is someone at the shop messing with you? Never seen this one. Do you have auto save and backup active? Do you have any 3rd party applications installed on X7? What did you customize in X7? TB states, config, etc? Anything you customized, try getting it back to original and see if the problem goes away. If it does, start adding things back one at a time.
  22. rotary ninja, Part of the issue could be some file in your copied folders from previous versions that are causing the issue. Can you rename your my mcamx7 folder and restart Mastercam and see if the issues go away and stay away? If they do, then start copying files back over - only the ones you think you need, not the entire folder structure and see what happens. This might nail down the culprit which is similar to what was causing the asian looking character start up dialog. The best thing to do is a fresh install and DO NOT copy any older files from previous versions. If you have no problems, then the problem is most certainly coming from a file coming over in migration or something you are copying over by hand, Please let me know what you find.
  23. Please see the second page of this thread: http://www.emastercam.com/board/index.php?showtopic=72865
  24. The files mwMachSim.ini file need to delete are locate in the My Documents\my mcamx7 folder. you can delete all four of the mw .ini files in the folder I mentioned and they will be recreated once you start mastercam, run verify or mach sim.
  25. In addition to Tom's information the offending file seems to be mwMachSim.ini which is located in the root of your \my mcamx7 You can delete this .ini file and when you start mastercam a new one will be created. By deleting the .ini the scrambled dialog shown above will go away. We are working on a faq entry that will document this and we will post it and make it a sticky. For now, just delete the mwMachSim.ini file and drive on.
