I can program a large inconel flange on a VTL in 5 minutes and it will take over 12 hours to cut
Or I can take 3 hours to maximize the productivity on a 45 seconds cycle time on our multi axis lathes
I have the same issue, i didn't took time to find exactly why but i suspect it's when i create a WCS "relative to" in the plane manager, it switch all the home position to negative values and verify use those value for tool change position
The option to control feed and RPM on the last cut are not available with dept cut, this is a big lack in mastercam
What I usually do is use 3 different operations one to rough with a pocket toolpath (Opti-rough works like a charm in pockets) , finish floor with a pocket toolpath leaving a bit more stock than the rough on walls then finish wall with a contour toolpath
Totally agree with you !
ive been able to program a cable drum in MCAM with a button insert using a bunch of G33 but the math + the chaining behind was a PITA to do
Few years ago we had a desktop install in the receiving just next to the welding department, due to grinder fine metals particle the computer caught fire by itself , the power supply fan was acting like a flame thrower
We baught enclosure to prevent this in the future
We cut a lot of 316 (nearly 50% of our production)
A few weeks ago we test the SECO CNMG432-MF4 CP2500 with success, 350-400 SFM .012 IPR and .15 DOC was the sweet spot on our Okuma Crown
unfortunately we never had any success with Kenna ISO turn inserts no matter the shape or the grade we have tested, surprisingly, they beat everyone in milling application for this material ...
Iscar and Sumitomo makes pretty good inserts too for stainless but SECO can go a bit faster for approximately the same tool life ans price
your geometry is ok but for stainless you need the good insert with the appropriate coating and the speed and feed need to be on the spot
tell us what you actually use to get some usable information
Yes i watched Alaska Offroad Warriors on History, it was a good show since it's the kind of offroading i like , i'm not a big fan of mud drags and rock bouncer
for the error, the Z line is smaller than your tool nose radius, mastercam can't link the wall and the radius correctly
