Ss321 can be cut like butter with a hot knife if you use the right tool with the right coating and the right cutting method
Variable helix endmill and dynamic toolpath are your best friends in SS
if you run solidworks, you definitively need a Quadro card, the gamers card simply can not handle assemblies with more than 200 parts (including bolts and nuts)
i took specs from solidbox ans sent them to a little computer store next to our shop
they quote me a custom build with the same specs or better for 2500$ less .....
I have 16gb of ram and it's a minimum to run SW flawlessly
And the quadro card handle multiple parts better, 100% of the ram is applied on the active part
With my old g-force card the ram was splitted equally between opened parts, so if i had 4 pats i was only using 25% of my memory on active part
Ive found that Duct tape works better than masking tape
it's thicker and the soft surface will protect the paint
but yes this will be a PITA to do especially if the paint is thick and hard
just write " M00 ( ***FLIP CLAMPS***) " in a manual entry set "as code"
dont use any program stop in the Canned text of your previous operation, just add the manual entry where you want the machine to stop
your code should look like this
.....
N780 M09 N790 G00 G91 G28 Z0.0 N800 G00 G91 G28 Y0.0 N810 M00 (***FLIP CLAMPS***) (T20 = 1.25 DAPRA F-MILL ) N830 (ROUGH BOTTOM) N840 G00 G40 G80 G90 N850 T20 N860 M6

the Seco rep came here yesterday with this new cutter , i can't wait to try it , the insert is way beefier than our mitsubishi ADX and tungalloy feed mills
If it's a simple rectangular pocket without any 3d shape, a simple 2d pocket toolpath set to hi speed method will do approximately the same toolpath as HS area mill but with a much smaller G-code output
I want to know if i am the only one who get this bug
in mastercam lathe if i create a stock model without any C-axis toolpath , everything work as it should
if i took the same stock model but i include my C-axis cross drill, mastercam crash as soon as i hit the regen button
MCAM2017 update 2
the F4 button gives you anything you need to know, plus if you select more than one entity you will get 2 big blue arrows at the top to toggle from one entity to an other
Okuma push it to the limit
On our p300 we got the HSSC (harmonic spindle speed control)
And the VSST (variable spindle speed threading)
I have just to find how it works lol
I follow the recepie provided by our reseller without success
Sumitomo HGS series
I am currently drill some 9mm holes 30mm deep, 1800 rpm .007 ipm coolant thru
The drill will certainly drill the 5000 parts without any problems
