  1. you can't rely on a single tool supplier no one have yet invent the miracle tool that can do everything each tool maker have their forces and weakness, and a tool that works flawlessly on a machine can be disastrous on an other
  2. eazy select a Finish toolpath chain only the bottom entity from OD to center use finish step over and number of finish pass to control the depth of cuts play with lead in/out to control the infeed movement and avoid collision ive used this method alot with a VNMG to cut small face recess like 4in OD and .06 deep
  3. you can cheat with a center drill
  4. Don't waste your time, call the rep, it's easier lol
  5. we cut a lot of both it's softer and easier to machine than GR5 bot it's also a bit stickier but in the end we almost use same tooling with same speeds ans feeds for GR2 and GR5
  6. you can save the presentation as an executable file simply by clicking the "Save presentation" button
  7. We use Tsudakoma Rotary on all our Okuma mill, the only problem is the cables connectors that are not waterproof at 100% and after a few years the collant corrode the little wires inside. but mechanically, i don't remember to had a single problem over 20 years
  8. Wear at 100% for toolpath who have tool compensation, form experience, mix Wear and Control is a time bomb for a major crash
  9. in the wireframe tab,, click the "Turn profile" button then select the solid
  10. the only issue i had during migration is 2 post processors that simply stopped working and crashing mastercam, my reseller fixed them in less than a day
  11. im dowloading it during i post this comment but by far i had no problem using 2019
  12. Open it in Note pad or drag the .PST file in a G-code editor like CIMCO Edit or Mcam Code Expert
  13. I assumed that your entity is drawn a -2.000 from the Z0 plane, so be sure to be in 3D mode when selecting your drill points if you selected them in 2D and de Z dept is set at 0.000, your G-code is correct if evreything is OK then is probably a post issue
  14. Post , machine and control def need to be outside of the PDM, but the MCAM files are in we manage files like C:PDM >Client >>part number >>> inspection report, drawings, SW and MCAM files, setup sheets and NC files
  15. we use Solidworks EPDM here, the nicest things is that you can implant an approbation process via a work flow , plus you can filter the extensions rights to evrey users Programmers can see all the files operators can only see the latest NC and PDF files that went through the complete approuval process
  16. parallel lead in/out and extensions are always post like that to avoid this, draw a full entity and chain it without lead in/out the posted code should be cleaner
  17. First side Flip operation that you will ghost to prevent posting M00 (you can hard code this line with a manual entry) G50G91Z-***amount of shift*** (you can hard code this line with a manual entry) G90 (you can hard code this line with a manual entry) 2nd side M02 (will reset the shift amount )
  18. i can go up to 12.5%, i am crazyer lol

    lathe

check if the orientation of the solid is OK, lathes dosen't like to use a other WCS than TOP
  20. Kitagawa simply call them "coverplates" https://www.kitagawa.global/en/products/power-chucks/accessories/coverplates
  21. you can use trim toolpath utility but you will loose the tool compensation (wear)
  22. We own an Eurotech Elite Multiflex since 1997 and it still one of the fastest machine here, but 20years of production has it's downside, the machine is loose from evreywhere lol
  23. Okuma all the way, We have an old Captain 370MW that cut inconel and other hard to machine parts since 2007 still hold .0002 all day long without any problem
  24. Cool, cuz custom tooling in lathe is a PITA to work with, especially the square boring bars....
