  1. gcode, Did you ever get this? If so, hows it working???
  2. Goldorak, Jeff, I assume you are peck drilling with the OSG's? I looked at OSG's web site - 300 rpm and .012 ipr - Iscar's recommended was like 164 sfm and .008 ipr, (~950 rpm at .642 dia), and it shure as H3!! wont live at that. Any other recomendations...
  3. I am running some parts from 1.25" - 316SS plate. (waterjet to blocks on size) And I have quite a few to run. They have two .642 - .650 holes (thru). I have tried Iscar's SumoCham drill, this drill was selected because according to Iscar it could be used with OR with-out coolant-thru. My machine does not have coolant thru the spindle, but we have ran them on another machine that does have a coolant thru spindle and YES it did make the tips last a few more parts but still not like they should, for their cost. The tips are breaking down, on both machines, like the carbide is fracturing off the edges, maybe BUE is causing it? I have tried light and heavy feed and low and high surface feet, don't matter the edges still break down. At $70+ a pop for a new tip every 8 - 10 holes, this just aint working. I can't be the only one on here who needs to drill in 316 SS, but I don't have much experience with SS. I don't have a problem with buying good stuf - but this just aint working. Anybody got some great words of WISDOM??? Thanks... Mark
  4. Depending on the size of the burr, I have used a propane torch to burn off the smallest of whiskers, tags and burrs. Other than that - a really sharp knife edge... and a lot of time!!! HTH Mark
  5. rgollar, Schunk makes other styles of holders also, I just like the simplicity of the "sino-R". Have them show you or let you test the other style holders they make. HTH Mark
  6. I trully belive that in any machine the holders will make a difference. I have some Schunk "sino-R", SCHUNK , the endmills I run in these last 2-3 time that of any "ER" - "TG" holder I have, and setscrew holders I try to avoid if possible. You cant use these for everything, but I try to keep them with endmills in them. I think anything that requires special machinery to work, like Shrink fit is too expensive (requires heat machine), except for really high end machines. Some will argue with this line of thought...? These Schunk sino-R are a tighten to a dead stop with a spanner wrench and forget, run out is exceptional!!! My .002 Mark
  7. Check with your local scrap yards, some of the ones here have them... Also call local material suppliers. Also look for local non-destructive testing companies, some here do this type of testing. HTH Mark
  8. So who is going to translate so "Cornbread" and In-House can understand each other??? JK Congrats Jimmy...
  9. If you are looking for something to actualy run MC on? Maybe look here... DFS Direct They ususal have some of the older workstation laptops for under $500. Or keep a lookout on Dell's outlet site for refurbs. HTH Mark
  10. Isn't / Wasn't there a problem with Art, or maybe it was Engraving, in Win 7 64bit? I thought I read something about problems with the areo interface? Maybe not?? Did MU3 fix all those issues?
  11. Search MSC for Item# 05479092 I use this for most text or logo's HTH Mark
  12. If you go to Kitagawa's web site: web page They have dimension drawings of the rotary tables. You would have to make your own model... Or here: MR250 PDF But - that's what I did. HTH Mark
  13. Check the FTP (top of page) There were some vise's on it. HTH Mark
  14. You may also get more direct help by contacting... Ron Branch Read some of his post's around here, he knows/does more than most of us will ever... HTH Mark
  15. Jim, For what it's worth... I had this card back in the day (V9) ebay I have had XP64 running with this card also. HTH Mark
  16. At one point there were threadmills drawn up and on the FTP for V9 - I think James may have put them up there? Look on the FTP (top of this page is the link) HTH Mark

  18. First: WELCOME to the greatest thing since sliced bread! (eMastercam that is) quote: We have 16 cnc’s 9 lathes, and 7 verticals. Do the lathes all have the same control - what about the Verticals? Or a better question is: Will all the controls use basic Fanuc code? If so - try the MPMaster post on this site (posts section at top of page) - there is also a MPLMaster for lathes. These may be tweeked or further modified to match your needs. Most of that help is also avaliable here - do a few searches, you will be supprised at what you can find for post mods - really great people here with way more knowledge than me. HTH Mark
  19. John, Good to see you back! A guy told me, "..turn it up till it melts then back off a little....", seemed to work? Last of this stuff I cut was a thick walled pvc pipe of somekind the customer supplied. My machine is limited to 8K on rpm - I just picked 6500 out of the air and ran all tools at that. 1/4 - 3/4 EM's and 9/16 drill. Feed was ran between 80 and 120 ipm. My problems: Rigidity - holding the $@&* stuff still, ended up making a steel sleeve to slide the stuff onto. Flute geometry - did not have EM's specific to plastics, but ended up with some 4fl HSS. 2fl's seemed to "bang" the cut to much and mess with my setup and accuracy of cut. Coolant - Fines from this crap kept cloging up coolant system. (They float!) Ended up using loose mesh HVAC filters to filter coolant before it ran back into the coolant tanks. HTH Anyway, Good luck... Mark
  20. Thanks guys. Will give it a try in the morning. THANKS! Mark
  21. Have a question maybe someone can answer? I searched, but didn't find exactly this same question on the WCS's abilities. A friend I got to purchase MC called with a question I could not answer. I have never used the WCS stuff much. He has a vise mounted on VMC, two parts in the vise (orientated on different faces), WCS's assigned to each parts face just for work offsets really. He is wanting to put one or possibly two more vise on the table and "COPY" and "PASTE" the operations from the first vise to a new group and the new vise, then just "re-assign" a new WCS's to those op’s he would create from the new vise. Is this possible? (Did that make ANY sense?) He said he can get the op's moved to a new WCS but it keeps posting code and adding like 10-12 inches to every X and Y move? Like the moved op's are still associated to their original WCS? If what he wants to do is possible, would one of you give me a simple process of how to do this... I have no clue. (Or is it not simple?) There are like 30 something ops for these two parts is why he is wanting to do this rather than just re-program, plus these op's are proven. Oh, I think they are running X2 but not sure what revision. Told him I would come play tomorrow... we'll see? (Just using work offsets back in V9 was so much simpler for me!) Thanks for any responses! Mark
  22. Leonard, Yes, the guys at Cad/Cam Sol. are good people, some of the best I know. Always help when I ask, just got to get them to quit changing the phone number... Jim, quote: Wif those chipped flutes... I think he got a REGRIND.... Keebler, or Kannon one, did it so he's STILL not real sharp! J/K Heavychevy2155, You get to meet CORN-BREAD at South-Tec? I went Tues. and Wed. - but wifey went also, so I had to be good this year. Later, Mark
