  1. It's like the Brother control but with better conversation programming. Makes CAM software obsolete. Mike
  2. Cool beans. We do a lot of stuff w/ vacuum. Yeah, when you loose it, you want to know in a hurry haha. Mike
  3. We have some regular HPI EM holders with jetblast and have had good luck with them. No experience w/ shrink though. Mike
  4. Remember, there is a limit.... http://www.practicalmachinist.com/vb/cnc-machining/my-latest-capto-grenade-experiment-224331/ Mike
  5. I knew RobK would be good for some good Capto extension shots Mike
  6. I concur. Capto is awesome. Have it on all our lathes and some Cat40 to capto adapters for mills. Mike
  7. I used a Royal one way back. Gripped very well even w/ only 145psi coolant. Mike
  8. Hhah. Because Matrix magazines are way too boring and reliable. Pretty cool to look at though. Mike
  9. PM me and I'll give you my email and I may be able to do something for you tomorrow. Mike
  10. Yes. Use a tool similar to link below and do a 3d contour subbing C for Y. http://www.harveytool.com/prod/Browse-Our-Products/Specialty-Profiles/Undercutting-End-Mills_192/Undercutting-End-Mills---270-_127.aspx Mike
  11. My guess is $500K. If you're kind of getting by w/ a Haas and want to make a huge jump up without spending a ton. I would look at the Makino F5. Great machine for around $180K. Next up would be the V56i which is just a little nicer/ acurate /Japanese made version of the F5. l was at Makino Ohio and they had an IQ300 there and it was awesome. But like most things Makino, they're not giving it away. Mike
  12. Sweet. I just took a look at the i200. Good looking machine. Mike
  13. Only 16XD any reason you want to EDM and not use a coolant drill? Mike
  14. No experience with those. But, just looked at the Okuma Multus U a few weeks ago and thought it was really nice machine. Mike
  15. This topic has been discussed a bunch before. Primarily on facing paths. Maybe another enhancement request should be put on the MC forum. Mike
  16. Just grind some flutes on the nut. Problem solved. Mike
  17. You can flag tools as "Prohibit Rotation" on the Makino Pro 5 (310i). I wonder if other controls have the same functionality. Another thing to do is maybe alter the max RPM parameter in the tool change macro if changing to the probe and change back when changing out the probe. Never tried it but wonder if it would work (on Fanuc that is). Mike
  18. Thanks for the info. Now I don't have to test it out. Mike
  19. Even if a brand new probe and receiver/board fell from the sky you are looking at $3,000-$8000 to interface it to your machine (depending on what type it is). That being said, I would definitely bite the bullet and get one though. A OMP60 would do you just fine unless you're doing really tight stuff. No need for the "R" models unless you have a really large machine. "R" is for radio. Mike
  20. We do have data server but with solid state memory being so cheap it sure would be nice to not have to DNC. Mike
  21. We've got one as new as 2014. Tech said it's 1.0 still which is why they don't dnc from it. Never has ever really been an issue for us since we have everything on the network. The real question is why in the world does Fanuc still only offer 8Meg of memory? This 2015! There's got to be a reason. I hope. Mike
  22. Thing is the Pro 5 USB is USB 1.0. Not exactly known for speed. Mike
