  1. On our twin turret posts the wait codes are misc values. Usually posts em in the right place. Mike
  2. I use mechanical milling chucks from Big Kaiser. They say they have more gripping force than heat shrink. Great runout and quick change. I love ours. Mike
  3. 7/16 UNF 2A External PD is .4037/.3995
  4. .0005pt. Spindle... balls to the wall.
  5. We've held +/- .0002 pretty reliably after an extensive machine warm up. Grinding might be easier though, considering you've got a nice center hole to work with. A lot less scrap. Probably pretty cheap too. Mike
  6. Calvin, Just tried it out. Pretty handy function. Thanks, Mike
  7. There is usally a parameter to tell the parts count to trip on M99 or M55. You might just want to try m55 instead of m99. Mike
  8. quote: I just got a quote on a Daewoo HP5100. Looking into our first one as well! Tim, Who's your sales guy at arthur? Mike
  9. quote: He guarded his postion and files like the crown jewells and was a stone wall when you asked him for help. He had an entire closet full of old AppleII's and spent his weekend prowlling swap meets and garage sales looking for parts. Funny story Gcode.
  10. As long as you stick to one turret. X2 has worked well for me. Mike
  11. +1 for the cimco. I like it a lot better. Mike
  12. Ron, I assume the video is well over a year old. There is a point in the vid when he talks about the reseller meeting wich is just around the corner. I don't think this product will be released in the near future though. Considering no one has heard anything about beta testing yet. Mike
  13. Chris, W/ rotary broaching you gonna have orientation issues. If it's small quantity, wire edm is your best bet. Mike
  14. quote: I was gettin all excited till he said they can't output code yet... My thoughts exactly. I'd think code generation would be the hardest part. Mike
  15. How long did you wait? It too me 20min to load off the FTP.
  16. Yeah, Just for fun folder, should be in there.
  17. I'm going to make sure it's ok with our re-seller than I'll put it on the FTP. Mike
  18. I'ts just a video, but it goes over the multitasking pretty extensively. When I finish up today I'll email it to you guys.
  19. Ron, I just got the MC Multitask X3 Demo from my reseller. Have you seen this?
  20. mag is pretty gummy. We've done exstensive machining using waterbased collant w/o problems. use sharp tools. cuts like butta.
  21. quote: Anyone have an approx price on partmaker? I've heard that for mill/turn applications and swiss machining it is great. Just curious on it's price tag compared to others. TY, Chris Chris, For your application I would say 10K would be a safe bet. Although I think MC does pretty well on single turret apps. Multitasking is where it runs out of steam. Mike
  22. Ron, I did an online demo w/ partmaker yesterday and was very impressed. Not only did it handle the sync and waits very well but the overall programing seemed a lot simpler. Simulation was very impressive as well. I do have Esprit coming in thursday to do their demo and i'm looking forward to it. I have lost some faith in mastercam's ability to compete in the multi task arena within the next year. And this is to long for me to wait. It makes me sad because I really like mastercam for milling but i'm tired of punching my keybord everytime I program a mill/turn part. Mike
  23. quote: I have pretty much given up on verify for transfer work. Between you and me, I have partmaker coming in mon. This is after I heard from mastercam it will be 6mo + for multitasking.
  24. You should be able to get the demo disc from your re-seller. It gives you full featured MC but doesn't let you post correctly. And if I'm not mistaken, files created in the demo, can not be opened in the legit version.
