  1. Looking from the side , the toolpath is moving from left to right, your cutter is not following right on top of the contour. Mine is. Got to go. [ 02-28-2003, 09:50 AM: Message edited by: Guy Arseneault ]
  2. Matthew, Change the across cutter comp to right. HTH Guy I don't if it matters, but I tried this on Ver9 SP1 Solids Level 3. Don't have Ver8. [ 02-27-2003, 03:59 PM: Message edited by: Guy Arseneault ]
  3. Diedesigner, Most times I just set the cutting depth lower than the surface. It will keep cutting straight down, no draft. HTH Guy
  4. The company I work for has quoted jobs that end up overseas, specifically(sp)China and then we get to fix their mistakes when they don't run correctly. They'll spend what they saved in corrections. You figure. jm2c Guy
  5. NEVER TICK A WOMAN OFF A wife came home just in time to find her husband in bed with another woman. With super-human strength borne of fury, she dragged him down the stairs, out the back door, and into the tool shed in the back yard and put his xxxx in a vice. She then secured it tightly and removed the handle. Next she picked up a hacksaw. The husband was terrified, and screamed, "Stop! Stop! You're not going to cut it off, are you?" The wife, with a gleam of revenge in her eye, put the saw in her husband's hand and said, "Nope. I'm going to set the shed on fire. You do whatever you have to". Guy
  6. Dan Bedore, quote: so Guy are you saving the cut path as geometry and then measuring? Following the geometry I created to make the surface. HTH Guy
  7. Beck, quote: Guy, I see that you also experienced the same problem. It is at the bottom of a U-shape that the cutter doubles the negative stock. Thank You Very Much. quote: Peter, I tried your example and it does what Beck said, at the bottom of the "u" it goes double the negative stock. I don't know if you saw my post but I loaded a file that does the same thing. Dan Bedore quote: guy how did you tell that it went twice the distance. just woundering how i can check a cut path with out cutting a part. By backplotting in the front view. 8. Peter, I tried your example and it does what Beck said, at the bottom of the "u" it goes double the negative stock. I don't know if you saw my post but I loaded a file that does the same thing. Thanks, Guy [ 01-23-2003, 01:34 PM: Message edited by: Guy Arseneault ]
  9. I had the same problem. It would cut ok going down the sides but when it came to do the radius it took double the amount.I've loaded a file called flowline.mc9 in the mc9 folder. It has 3 toolpaths with no negative stock, minus .003 and minus .008. Thanks Guy
  10. "D'Oh!!" Jim and Peter, I feel like an idiot. I always editted the file, now my comrade is running the machine is not comfortable editting the files. So they maybe more interesting ?s in the future. Thanks Guy

OFF. - 41 LEN. - 1 DIA. - .5) N1G20 N2G0G40G49G80G90 I want it to look like this: % O1234 (PROGRAM NAME - GUY) (DATE=DD-MM-YY - 19-12-02 TIME=HH:MM - 16-16) (TOOL - 1 DIA. 14. The drafting global box opens when you scroll towards the top of the font menu.Instead of using mc9(whatever you want)font,you need to use drafting(whatever you want)font. HTH Guy
  15. Kart97, Have you look into using "create-next menu-letters". Guy
  16. Serf, This is one of the guidelines forum members try to follow. quote: Q. Does anyone have a post for a [insert machine or control name here]? A. Ask this question as your first message here and you won't necessary like the responses you receive. Look to your reseller to supply you with the proper post for your machine, or quote for the work that needs to be done. If you have something and are looking for improvements, it's a reasonable request. Maybe tell us why the post you have needs improvement. Perhaps try to participate a bit on the Forum before you go asking for something. Not unlike Habitat for Humanity, we value Sweat Equity here. Quid pro quo, Clarice. You may also want to let everyone know your company name so that your Hotmail or Yahoo email account doesn't give everyone the impression that you aren't a licensed Mastercam user. Guy
  17. mmetzinger , I ran into that same problem and what I did was to create arc in the top plane then rotate it 90 degrees and it would work for me. It has something to do with the view the arc was created in. HTH Guy [ 12-10-2002, 02:22 PM: Message edited by: Guy Arseneault ]
