  1. okay I've posted the offending operation, and code shows it upside down also ...
  2. I get what your saying but it not like the rapid moves goes thur my part , the whole toolpath is upside down to to current workshift.. but will post code out and look at it.. thanx john
  3. Hello all, I have a part I want to do some 5x cutting from the bottom view , but my tool path comes from the top view no matter what I do.. am I missing something here... I have attached zip to go file running mx6 ... any thought or help will be appreciated .. thanx in advance Ron CUTTING MULTI 5X MCX-6.Z2G
  4. I've been here before, it's been a while for me, since I've set tools this way, but the only other thing I would do, that you didn't mention was I would hand write a tool offset program to go to a certain place on table to set tools, this program was in every machine we had. it set the tools in same place, and use G53 command to get machine coord. instead of involving G54-G59 workshift. hope this helps..
  5. Keep notes as your being trained, so your not asking same questions weeks later.. learn to do it their way before you add your improvement to it.. good luck to you
  6. Check your drafting setting sound like it rounding number off... go to settings/ system configuration/ dimensions and notes hope this help Ron
  7. Before I came back to programming with MC, I was programming using SmartCam and it had a tranlate and rotate w/ a sorting tool so you could program the part once and translate ,rotate the tool path and sort it in the seq. , it was so simple and easy... problem was having multiple program for number of parts run in tombstone... Ron
  8. yup you are correct, as of now that is what you have to do.. unless you ramp 2d contour.. when ramping it go from top to bottom then move in on mulit-pass hth Ron
  9. I don't have 2017 as of yet so i don't know, but in earlier version we can click and drag it to a different position and it remember that position... worth a try? hth Ron
  10. When this group was conceived, that was the exact reasoning for it , for each of us to do the same part and see how everyone would attack it, but what we end up finding out that not everyone was on same version so if was difficult to share files, for example i had to drop out , cause everyone else was moving on to the latest and greatest MC available ... which they should, But because I couldn't , I'm stuck with ver. x6.. for number of reason... But all in all it a great idea, it help people start looking at jobs in a different way.. Good luck Ron
  11. I started and learn mastercam on v2.0 when it was still DOS base op system, if I remember right picture v7. with out icon bar, you selected through menu , which you still can do up to ver x6.. I'm not sure about newer vers. cause i'm stuck at ver 6 for now .. grrr.. :-)
  12. Sounds like your file association for windows is messed up.. I'd check this 1st. if i was you... hope this helps Ron
  13. this is true especially when your dealing with 1 chain, but if there is more than one chain in an operation, you can reverse 1 of those chain and it will not change comp, then you can highlight the rest of the chain and reverse them.. Ron
  14. You could also try iscar... https://www.iscar.com/eCatalog/Family.aspx?fnum=3754&mapp=ML&app=194&GFSTYP=M
  15. I'm using greenshot does great job of snapping picture of what you select in a window and you can saving it to jpg,or tiff... it shareware so it free and works great Ron
  16. lol I got a print with the call out of a threaded hole all push together example: M6 x .75 DINI3 -21 6h and it should be: M6 x .75 DIN 13-21 6h couldn't see it the first time I looked at it.. Ron
  17. With that many hole, wouldn't you save cycle time if you used point to point ? May not be a spiral like your hopping for, (IMHO) but it would be quicker cycle time wise.. HTH, Ron
  18. I adjust geometry that I've pulled from model, (not the model itself).. so when verifying and comparing to model I expect to see different colors depending on the different tolerance .. hth Ron
  19. Could be servo needs tweaked, had a few Mikron's when every there was a change in direction or pause in movement z axis dropped a few thousands and created rings... just a thought.... hth Ron
  20. double check your thread per in in tool definition , try converting 1.25 pitch to inches .. which would be .0492 threads per inch.. Ron
