  4. As for the number depth cut is control by the number of active teeth as for starting top or bottom of thread is control by climb or conventional cutting of thread
  5. Try this seems to work for me G10/G11 carbide sfm = 200-500 feed per tooth 1/8" = .001 1/4" = .003 1/2" = .006 as for drill = .0003 per tooth hope this Helps Ron
  6. seem like everyone agree that vericut is the way to go, then why not merge vericut and mastercam into one package? I know we have looked into vericut but for some reason the powers that be don't think we need it..lol even thought we do 5x machining on a daily bases, I guess cause no one has hit anything hard yet .. they figure we got a good grasp on things...
  7. I did a path using spiral which the floor looks great but walls no so much maybe be able to do a combination of the two to get the results you want... hope this helps...
  8. You have to belong to group to get in, you'll have to see power that be, message (Rotary Ninja) who is pretty much running the group.. or message webby who created the group for us.. Hope this helps.

  11. Glad i could help, yeah machine has no balls..lol and you'll find that you can't tap with anything over 1/4-20 tap, if you need to make thread over 1/4-20 i would suggest thread milling.. or do it on another machine with some guts... also cause the machine has no ball need to think small and fast cutting.. for example 12mm dia. 2 flute end mill to cut profile of part, cut no more than half the dia. of the end mill material to come off, if you have say .250 worth of material do a multipass on contour, and ramp contour .125 depth of cut 42k sindle speed, at 525.0 feed... chip will fly off.. :-) (material is Alum.) but we have cut 303 and 304 ss. with the machine and it does do a good job.. it a matter of getting right depth and width of cuts We use seco end mills, love them they cut very well, but salty in price.. if there is anything programming the machine you need, just ask I'll be happy to help if i can.. you can also check out our company web page at metlfab.com to see all the mikron we have.. :-) as for a forum, video, or web page for help, hint or tips i knew of none at this point, we learn by trail and error.. lol Ron
  12. In the control itself is the manual in different languages,(dutch, english, arbic) etc..... We have 2 hsm400u-lp 5x with 308 tools,2 mikron 600 with 220 tools,2 mikron 600 with 170 tools 8 mikron 800 3x with 60 tools, 2 400u-lp 3x with 308 tools.. think mikron 600 and 800 machine are great machine, still holding out judgement on the 400's only had them for a few months... :-) Ron p.s. all probing in our machine is done manual at machine, the control itself has function for the different probing...
  13. Hi Reko, to answer your question in order no not actively using macro programming, but have used them ran a few job that had to have seq. serial number in ea part so use the macro to pull the numbers and count for me.. I use cam when every possible.. pretty firm unless someone can make since in why to change.. :-)
  14. I use greenshot to snap picture of what I want , then allow you to make mark-up to picture, notes etc. before saving to jpg,bmp,gif,tiff... Greenshot allow to pic the size of picture you want to create..
  15. Now I have use Cimco speed and feed calculator from time to time...
  16. yes I get my speed and feed from mfg. and use a hand held calculator to convert sfm and chip load to enter them into tool library.. sorry if I miss understood what you was asking... :-)
  17. Same here as rogkick... our machine keep same tools in them which I I've gone thur and set for alum.soft steel, stasinless 303,304 brass and copper.. if any thing other than that comes in i tweak tools as I pull them in at that point.. by the way our machine hold 220 tools..
  18. Need to save setting/Customize lower left hand corner it's a mtb file Ron p.s. opps I just reread your post seem like your saving in the right place... :-)
  19. Thanks alot ..:-) I only mention it cause had a job come in today, that we ran long ago and needed the fixture remade.. had code file but no cad files.. I appericate everyone quick responce Ron
  20. I remember old version of Master-cam could reverse back plot.. Which is to say read thru. an nc file, and run it thru back plot and create geometry from it.. My question is this function still available, or is gone with the wind? Thank in advance Ron
  21. Well I started programming with a pencil and paper, then turn it into a paper tape for a Bridgeport, while in trade school (1982-1983). Then while at my first job the programmers there was using Master-cam verison. 3 I believe (Dos was the operating system) Went to school to learn that programming system and been programming every since 1988, left that company in 1996 and learned Smartcam at next job programmed that system for 10 years, before we changed to use Mastercam ver. 9 , ... programming has come a long whiles since my start that for sure..lol.... and think it great that I'm still learning new things ....
