  1. Marshal, At the bottom right of your screen is "View Manager" click it and start lookin. Also type WCS in help and start readin, help is the blue ? on your toolbar. And search here on the Forum for WCS. Been covered many times. Works OK since moving on to X platform, back in teh V7,8,9 days it was a pita.
  2. +1 Same machine just use Toolpath Groups and Different WCS for each op. Different machines for different ops then use Machine Groups with Toolpath Groups. One File for a job is alot easier if files are named by job number or part number. With Rev Changes on a part number just copy and edit Rev Version, make changes and post.
  3. Do some testing of your other softwares on a Win7 box to see if they will run in compatibility mode and then look at getting a new PC. Additionally consider keeping your old PC running the other softwares and get a new PC for you. jm2c
  4. Add a T to the air line for the machine. Attach an adjustable valve and air hose and drop it in the coolant tank. Don't need massive amount of air just enough for it to bubble. Helps alot at keeping the coolant fresh. jm2c
  5. Did you try this with a different post ? And have you tried it on a different machine if possible ? Mostly just curious now Keith as it is rather strange. It seems as if the control doesn't have look ahead.
  6. Keith, Just looking at the geometry, do you need any leadin/out arcs to clear other geometry ? I would try no arcs and just linear leadin/out if it will clear.
  7. I would rough it to about .125 thick and then step down about .125 using a relieved .25 dia 2 flt endmill till I was at depth. The endmill should have about .15 length of flute. Then using a relieved .1875 dia 3 flt I would finish the .036 thickness down .125 deep using .010 passes on the walls with a final pass on each side of .005 now step down and repeat until at final depth. The endmill should have about .15 length of flute.
  8. One way is to use a post that outputs longhand code or since its just one hole just hand code longhand. G1Z- G0Z.1 G1Z- G0Z.1 etc.
  9. Those are options for teh machine, nuthin in the machine books ? May need to contact the folks that supplied the machine. IIRC G31.1 is high speed skip option. Different versions of the controller will or won't have em all.
  10. Master Toolpath Engineer throws tech under bus. Master Toolpath Engineer contracts hoof in mouth. Master Toolpath Engineer shoots self in hooves. Master Toolpath Engineer run over by BusMaster.
  11. quote: The verdict is finally in. Tip of tool for everyone! Congrats Tell your fellow "programmers" welcome to the next century.
  12. Try running it in compatibility mode. Right click desktop icon, compatibility tab.
  13. quote: Unless you learned how to do a lot of the things related to a machine shop right handed and use a computer like the rest of the world right handed. From the first drillpress, saw,Bridgeport,Lathe, edm to the latest mouse as well as learning to bat and golf right handed and drive cars, trucks and motorcycles made for a right handed world
  14. quote: if you were viewing the machine from the same isometric view in the workshop, the tool would machine from the back of the m/c cabinet, not the front. no not really, just look at how Vericut is setup also Solidworks starts you out ready to draw on the "Front", same with Autocad you are ready to draw in the "Real World" jm2c
  15. quote: You could program it either way but I prefer to look at the file in MC as I would look at the part/fixtures on the machine. Having been taught to "draw" in Autocad before using MC made it automatic to use Top/Front.
  16. quote: I only use V9 still. -------------------- Kevin the Toolmaker Trying to live the Dream.... MCX Mill level 3 Lathe Solid Ummmm huh ??? what ???
  17. If restart doesn't help.... Tool Definition ??? The post thinks it's something other than drill ?? So it outputs the D ???? just guessin outloud...
  18. quote: Is it possible to edit PDF file with any editor ? attention to details Dave
  19. Only if you convert the pdf to another format can you edit afaik. Buy this http://www.nitropdf.com/index.asp it works awesome.
  20. quote: N4699 (1/8" BALL 1 DEG (SHORT)) double parentheses is the only thing that might cause a problem, shutdown and restart machine didn't help ??
