Previous STL thread topic
may point you in the right direction for STL files
I seem to remember JP or another using or attaching a line/arc from C0 to set the rotation correct--- you may have to search for that
What is the full line of code on the drill cycle line ?
the additional G/M-code on that line should make it perform the same
2+ holes
Z2.0 ( clearance plane )
Z.5 ( retract plane )
G.. G83 XY Z... R... Q... F...
X... Y...
G0 Z2.0 ( clearance plane )
G80 G94
1 hole
Z2.0 ( clearance plane )
G.. G83 XY Z... R... Q... F...
G80 G94
Mike,
This sounds similar to Okuma subroutine output
the CALL O1001 statement would be replaced by a M97 P1001 and the RTS replaced by M99
with the subs being placed after the M30
Any chance of cross breeding the 2 posts ?
The problem actually lies with the STL file saving accuracy being set too fine
A 0.002" setting should be opened up to something like 0.010" , even 0.040"
If saving a STL after verify, remember to set this value before running
Its a link to another forum, but it does Turn-Cut
There is some code for it in the forum, doesn't look like Mcam code.
Some video as well
Hope it helps
If the pitch is 0.03125"/rev and the spindle is 100RPM
then the actual feedrate is 3.125"/min
The main query should be :"what is the code that is posted ?"
if output is G94
then the output feedrate should be F3.125
or
if the code G95 is stated
then F0.03126 sould be output
Hopefully there is a G94 before the next tool to set the feedrates back to feed per minute
It depends on how you have set-up the tool
-spin the reverse direction ( this controls the M3/M4 )
now set the tool to match
-change the hand of tool
-turn upside down
Did a job very similar
( meat mincer type plates )
Used Iscar 3.3mm CBD drill ( thru coolant )19mm deep thru holes-- no pecking
Running at 80m/min and 0.07mm/rev = 262 ft/min and 0.0027"/rev
370 holes = 15 minutes
Steve
A couple of mods to the post for comp on arcs
add in the "Error Messages" section
sworkoffseterror "ERROR - NO WORK CO-ORD SYSTEM APPLIED"
sspeederror "ERROR - RPM NOT SET CORRECTLY ?"
speck1error "ERROR - NO PECKS SET FOR DRILLING"
scutcomperror "ERROR - CUTTER COMP STARTS / FINISHES ON AN ARC"
If the other error detects appeal to you, give us a hoy
Modify "NC Motion" to detect that comp is started before doing arcs
pcirout #Output to NC of circular interpolation
if prv_cc_pos$ <> cc_pos$, result = mprint (scutcomperror), "ERROR-CUTTER COMP"
pcan1, pbld, n$, `sgfeed, sgplane, sgcode, sgabsinc,
pxout, pyout, pzout, pcout, parc, feed, strcantext, scoolant, e$ #pccdia removed
Don't forget that Okuma's require a line to take cutter comp on, and also to cancel.
Lead ins / outs must have a line ( perpendiculr or tangent ), the arc is optional, but is a good idea to use in many situations as is allows an angled and smoother approach to the contour.
No lead in/out means the tool plunges adjacent to the start point of your contour.
Now over-riding all this is the lead in / out must not cross the actual toolpath or it will be skipped
eg a 1" bore done with a 1/2" cutter, and wear comp
-using a 1/4" arc,90° sweep, tangent line 1/4" long-------will not allow the lead in/out
-using a 0.20" arc, 90° swwep, perpendicular line 0.20"" long-------will allow the lead in/out
If using cut-comp in the "Control", the lead in/out lines must be bigger than the tool radius, arcs also.
This is only a suggestion.
Edit your post so that any rotation commands are output as "M00 ( A90 )" for that machine
The output is commented and M00 is placed at the front, operators will see what angle to turn the dividing head to.
And
So if you post for a different machine, the actual code is correct and you get the "A90" output
If you have set the parameters of the Okuma control correctly, and the post only outputting -360 to 360 degrees, both should only count to 359.9999 degrees then ticks over to 0 degrees.
This allows the machine to revolve unlimited times, and no need to unwind.
Problem solved

When I add a new machine group I cant see my tools from the first group?
Yep, I understand they have to be re-loaded into the new machine group
BUT, why does Mcam tell me that, that tool exists when creating a new tool ( re-using a tool number ) in the new machine group ( it is empty ), that tool existed on a different machine.
