  13. I’m always switching back and forth from imperial to metric. Why is the tool tolerance when in metric - it’s still the Same tolerance .0001 to .008 that’s a small tolerance in Metric .   14. Hi Everyone I’m having a problem when I go to verify a toolpath. By the time I Get to my third dynamic toolpath the screen starts to flicker then The computer will lock up.   17. I have done it before using a convex contour cutter but The cutter was the same radius as the pipe .I just Used the contour toolpath not a surface. Thks for the Help I’m able to Pass this on .   18. Hi Everyone I need to make the bottom half of a bend die – for Bending tubing. I have drawn out the surface using The contour of the surface and the radius of the tube (1.5 R). As per my supervisor he wants me to use a 3.0 dia cutter .625 Wide on and arbour. I’m using a 3axis mill. Is this Possible to program. I would rather just use a Ball nose And rotate the part but he wants me to try and machine The bend surface all in one shot with the part laying on the table . And the cutter on and arbour .   20. Hi everyone I have a question about thread milling .I’m using a single point Tool cutting aluminum. 3/8 – 24 thread external .How many rough Passes should I be taking. I looked at the example on the Ftp site and the example was taking 3 roughing passes – witch Seemed like a heavy cut to me .I'm cutting at 15 IPM at 2000 rpm .   21. Hi Vince Just out of curiosity how does your DMG machine work? The one place I worked at we had a mill-lathe with multi Axes milling – and we never could get it to work properly So it ended up being sent back. The head keep moving When we were milling and they couldn’t seem to get it fixed. But we were Machining hard steel .
  22. Set all your tools there actual length using a height gauge ( you have to make a holder for the tool to sit in ) . Then set the spindle as Z zero using a known tool legth or a blank tool with a touch probe on it .Using this method you are able to set tool lengths while machine is running .
