  1. before getting too crazy in the post, check your misc values first. you may have it programmed, but the posted code is incorrect. check mi9$ and mi10$. play with those before you start screwing with the post.
  2. it was the default value in the control def that was limiting him. default is +/-36000. changing it to something more than the posted value took care of the issue. the code still posted, just have to accept the warning.
  3. does anyone have one of these machines set up for machsim?
  4. send me your file with the version you are working on. family is good, winter sucks. ready for 100 degree heat again. baseball is in full swing as usual, along with wrestling now. couple of more months and all my kids will be starting some sort of MMA. i wanted them to have a wrestling back ground first and foremost(like me). love fighting. how have you guys been? get off-roading much anymore? i have not been doing any at all for some time now. too much other "life" always gets in the way.
  5. dont use curve. use swarf with upper and lower rails and have then synced by entities - same number of entities in both rails.
  6. look for TIPS.PDF in the unspecified_folder.
  7. tried to attach it, but i have used too much of the allocated size. that really needs to be opened up.....A LOT. especially for mod's, the upload size should be at least 50 meg's.
  8. another one sent to your email. it is a simple one that i use for my military training.
  9. thanks for the replies guys. i was able to get correct coordinates. i am attaching a file showing correct rotation values for anyone that is interested in seeing what they are.
  10. try using machsim's verifier.
  11. if there is anyone running one of these machines, please contact me. i have a customer with one that is not getting the right rotation callouts according to him. i sent him a test file to place correct rotation callouts on each face, but there seems to be some confusion on his part. i am attaching the file here. if anyone can help me out, i would really appreciate it.
  12. file sent back. make sure normals are all on same cutting side if you use new style swarf. that is why that one looked "screwy". i also sent you the old style with two rails.
  13. JP.....can you email me yours. i must be blind today, because i swear that my xml and folder name are exactly the same. i want to compare your folder to my folder.
  14. same with me brian. same error message.
  15. you should try the the new machsim stuff for verification. not the actual machine simulation, but the backplot or verify option. it is much quicker than the standard verify.
  16. if you need the clearance as you are rotating, preparing for the next cut, use the 5 ax multisurf toolpath, on the linking page look for "links between slice". try setting it to "blend spline". this may give you a better result. also, expand linking to see the "clearance area". under the TYPE drop down, toggle thru those opens for which one better suits your part. this option can greatly affect your retract distance.
  17. another reason we need the "location" on by default.
  18. sorry, but i am not seeing this being as difficult as your making it out to be. granted, there is a bug with the default setting. now from what i gather, from this statement - "I set my default startup product to Design and then when the decision is made as to which type of machine or machines the part will be ran in, I select my machine.", you start up mastercam without a machine def loaded, pick your machine and then draw/import your part. granted, i am a pretty simple guy, but if you set the default planes per machine - select the machine you want to use - construct your part - would not the plane be in the correct orientation for you? if you start up in design mode, which is a blank template, if you will, why would you want to use the default setting of D+Z-? for instance, if you construct your part, said machine is already running and you have to program part for another machine anyway, planes will be changing per machine right? not coming down on you, just trying to under stand the thought process in case i am missing out on something that could speed my world up. just seems easier for me to load a machine with pre-defined planes and THEN import/construct my part is the best solution, especially since you start up in design anyway.
  19. i have set mine thru the machine def and when i load that particular machine def, all planes accordingly.
  20. may also want to try dynamic transform in 3D.
  21. yeah, i cant duplicate his problem either.
  22. you are probably opening the file in ascii format. change the settings found in the OPTION button on the dialog box.....set it to mesh and then open. should move this topic to other forum.
  23. read the transition guide. more specifically, page 19. as always with each new release, take the time to read the documentation.
