  1. Anytime the toolpath goes to G00 you hand control of the toolpath from your cam software to the machine, and all bets are off. Keep it in feed move.
  2. Here is a link the video and what's new. 2014 is noticeably faster than 2012+. If you have problem files, I have found their support to be extremely responsive and generally very inquisitive regarding user issues.
  3. I don't know about MastercamU, but StreamingTeacher has an entire horizontal series of lessons, involving transforms/tombstones and some subs.
  4. Spaceclaim 2014 is out, and has a new tab for "manufacturing". Nothing too revolutionary, but pretty slick. Still second-to-none for model repair and modifications. Also has now some nice new tools for working with meshes. Those of you with 2012 sc already, go into sc options, then resources tab and click update.
  5. Me too, super fun. Just make sure you inverse time feedrates.
  6. I too think it's a huge problem, rotating a part in verify and the stock re-appears! 5ms seems to make no sense. I don't think anyone said mastercam is unusable now, it's just a big frustration. I didn't catch this in beta, I was only running it on one pc and it has a monster quadro.
  7. Ken, the compare within Stock Model has a nearly unusable color scheme. Try changing the colors and it only gets worse. I submitted this a while back as an enhancement request, might want to check it out again.
  8. Exact same thing is happening here at a new install. I'll ck with qc. EDIT- It's with verify, stock removal will re-appear while rotating.
  9. Use the c-view utility (found under toolpaths when you have a lathe active). Works great to create proper planes.
  10. Kinda hard to see in that first picture. What were your arc filter settings and tolerance? That is usually my first place to look.
  11. The -block report is for a router block-drill toolpath. To check it out, I created a router program with a block drill op, and tried to run the router setup sheet. However the stock router AR won't even run. It errors out....Which further deepens the mystery... erroring cause it's looking for a block dataset that doesn't exist?
  12. I've combed through the xml list and the sample xml file and don't see a call for -BLOCK either. If you try and bind a report to the theoretical //BLOCK it flags an error that data set doesn't exist. I'll make a few calls myself and get back to you.
  13. Yes, you are correct. You have a main report which really doesn't have a lot of info in itselt, but it will have several calls for sub-reports to tack on operation lists, offsets, tool list, etc. Open up the oem Setup Sheet (MILL).rpx and you can see the sub calls at the end. Open up those called subs, and you will see THEY actually call subs themselves. Example: You will see "TOOL" and "TOOLS". Both are subs themselves, but TOOL is a sub-sub of TOOLS. TOOL gets information about a single tool. TOOLS compiles said information from several tools. Your on the right track. Use the stock one as a template and you can follow the logic. hth
  14. I'd stab a man in front of his own brother if I could figure out how to display max-z IN POSTION. It's beyond frustrating that ar won't display this. It's possibly one of the most useful fields a person could want.
  15. The applications fellows at Vektek are very helpful. Several years ago they assisted me in a large workholding project. I'd just get in touch with them and seeing what they recommend. Adding hydraulic pressure to mitee bite products might be a bit sketchy, I feel their products are pretty fragile relatively speaking. m2c
  16. Errr, the icon didn't show if your coolant was on or off. It didn't work.
  17. Guarantee you were getting a zillion line segments and not arcs. Make sure arcs in g17 is on. A huge tip is change color of arcs in backplot to orange or something else. That way at a glance you can see arcs or lines.
  18. Well the name of this topic as "Heads Up" certainly doesn't give lend itself to forum searching.
  19. In "your mcamx7" folder open this file: MastercamSimulatorDefaults.xml Search for "display wireframe" and set to "false."
  20. Also, Right click on Computer > Properties > Advanced System Settings > Advanced Tab > Performance > Adjust for best performance.
  21. www.streamingteacher.com Over 300 hours of training videos, broken down into 5-10 min topics. Very easy to search and pinpoint what you need on the fly.
  22. Good info. Thanks fellas. Yes, X6 had near zero latency. Just to add some humor: Imagine a classroom with 20 level 1 users. Me: "Ok everyone do exactly like it do. We are going to rename the .nc file. Everyone right click in the white area of the Operations Manager".... Student: Nothing happens. Did I click it? Better right click it again. Still nothing. Better right click it again. Still nothing. Ok now I'm gonna right click it like 5 times rapid-fire. Still nothing. Hey what the hells this menu? (toolbar selection). Dammit I'm gonna right click 10 times machine-gun style, maybe in a few other areas of the screen too. White screen............ HEY CHRIS MY MASTERCAM CRASHED! (and I didn't save any of my work) kill me.
  23. Doing a bit of research here. At the college I teach at, when you right click in the ops manager there is an approximate 5-7 second delay until the menu comes up. Occasionally the delay is 10-15 seconds, and mastercam will white-screen. If I run locally from a sim, there is no delay. I've been working with cnc and IT trying to solve this and tried several different things to no avail. I'm at the stage of looking at our internal network speed and any latency (cnc's recommended course). Those of you on nethasps, are you experiencing any similar issues or delay?
  24. Create a config that has shared data folder and user data folder on network location. (Hey that's a little-known what's new for X7). Also save that config to a network location. Use the config from the pc where it was created. All fine. Open that config on a different pc and all the data paths are CHANGED from the network to local drive. A) wtf, so much for what's new. B ) Would editing the registry pointing shared data to network be ok? What happens then when a config conflicts with that?
