Try that, otherwise I would send the gage to a calibration company for them to calibrate the gage and certify it to UNF standards.
Here is the way we do it, this works for 4 digits but can be adapted for 8 easily
#501=FIX[#101/10000]
#502=FIX[#101/1000]
#503=FIX[#101/100]
#504=FIX[#101/10]
#505=FIX[#101/1]

#505=[#505-[#504*10]]
#504=[#504-[#503*10]]
#503=[#503-[#502*10]]

Jeff,
We have one lathe that cuts this steel 24 hours a day. Try roughing 330sfm @.01 per rev .1 depth of cut. Finishing 400sfm @ .005 per rev.
Seco CNMG 432-M3 TP1500 inserts work great
as far as multiple parts check out speedgrip mandrels, specifically:

Ok guys, we only have 250 psi coolant through spindle on our older machines and we are looking at getting new machines with 1000psi coolant. We have purchased sealed ER collets/nuts for some jobs and we still have leakage ( with 250 psi). My question is what brands or collet system are the best and what brands (systems) to stay away from.
TIA
in order to calculate them we would need to know the size of each datum hole and the tolerance for each. an example would be if you had a +.1 size tolerance for each datum and they were at largest diameter you would gain .1 position tolerance for each feature. So in that case you would have .1 (datum E bonus) + .1 (datum F bonus) + .15 (34mm hole bonus) so you would have .55 position tolerance.
You don't get any bonus if your holes are all at the smallest size(mmc) so your deviation would be .2.
So when those datum features are at their smallest(mmc) that is the tolerance, if they are all at their largest you gain your bonus position tolerance. So you need to factor in the size of each datum hole called out to figure the bonus tolerance.
Well I had meetings with all three companies, of course they told me that they all interface well with zoller and mastercam. So i am getting reference companies to talk to to see how well they work.
Im guessing this is a blind hole. could you make a carbide extraction tool from apiece of carbide? Eiher that or use a left handed drill, it should bit on the first coil and spin out.
I am currently talking to all three again, Zoller, TDM and Wintool. Daniel, so the zoller interface does not even work right with wintool or just a pain to implement? I need both MC and Zoller to talk to this system, maybe i need to check zollers interface again.

They have cutters down to .375
Seco has mini-masters down to 6mm diameter as well.
This is exactly what we do here, the toolcrib guys get +/-.04 from the gage length value (simple to do with a presetter), otherwise the machine alarms out.
