  1. +1000 On the helical endmills, for the money nothing i have ran comes close. Benchmark are also good endmills. I think you should try the Rough/Finish endmills though, Helical HAL-C-3 would be the one to try
  2. M codes can also call a sub program as well, on Fanuc and Haas controls. But it looks like Bob W. has what you are looking for.
  3. Z axis growth is not just limited to matsuura, we have growth of about .001 to .0015 on our Makino a81 over the course of the day.
  4. I a centerline datum on the part would be part zero, like i said most parts i deal with have over 20 datums. Any one of those could be "part zero" i just pick the one that makes most sense.
  5. No, i said we use part zero. The parts that have full 4th milling have a centerline datum. Those parts also have about 20 datums so i usually use the one that is on center.
  6. Part zero here, I only use center of rotation for parts that are on center of the pallet and using full forth axis milling. I like when i don't have to go back to MC to check numbers to the part program, the numbers are easily calculated because they are print numbers.
  7. now to reduce wear on a brazed cutter you could rough it with this: http://www.kennametal.com/en/products/20478624/57493250/556247/46610642/46659698/46660235/100000571.html which is an insert cutter and finish with a full rad AB tool.
  8. I would try AB tool, we have them make full radius woody cutters all the time, although they are brazed carbide. http://www.abtoolsinc.com/
  9. +1000 on the steiner tools, currently using them to cut a 1.500 counterbore and .594 diameter pilot diameter.
  10. http://www.nachiamerica.com/1-21/Cutting-Tools/Catalogs/General/ Ron, these drills are amazing, for your application i would try the aqua drill ex micro (10d 15d and 20d)
  11. We have these on most of our machines, they work great, and are an extremely simple design. http://www.royalproducts.com/product.cfm?catID=1 We also have the Airflow systems on our larger horizontal mills http://www.airflowsystems.com/products/mist-collectors.php I like the royals better because they are so simple and compact. But i don't think they work that well on larger machines.
  12. Zoober, does Cribmaster interface with Zoller? that is also a must for us.
  13. I have not purchased anything but the main thing for me is not having separate databases that cannot be synced together. if i have a tool library that is in mastercam and would like to make a zoller program i don't think its wise to have to enter all the data again into the zoller.
  14. I looked at the zoller software at IMTS 2014 and the interface with mastercam seamed like it would work well. I hope to find someone that actually has it and see how it works.
  15. Check this out Matthew https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66tbgzJeCQQ
  16. that's good to know, thanks for the info Colin. Hoping to get the same info from users of other systems.
  17. Colin, how well do tools import and export from mastercam from TDM?
  18. Hello all, We are researching different software to handle our tool set-ups, we have a large toolcrib with well over 2500 tools set up at any given time. We are not looking for a vending/inventory software, we already have that. We are looking for something that interfaces with MC and our Zoller. I would like to consolidate similar set-ups and manage what/where tools are set-up. The 4 we are looking at are Zoller Wintool TDM and Cribware What do you have and what are the pros/cons?
  19. I have been getting this error a lot lately, the thing i can't figure out is that the tools it happens on are not custom, they are boring bars.
  20. Here is my RMB, the only enhancement that i would like to see is a most recently used drop-down in the RMB list.
  21. do you have a link? I only found a Toologik to be a reseller of tools.
  22. i know the Toolroom mill is the same way. comes with 4K and you can just change a parameter to up it to 6k. It wouldn't surprise me, Haas is all about keeping the hardware exactly the same.
  23. Rickster, your title says the opposite of your post. I have not tried this but I don't have x7 installed anymore. I could try x8 and see if there is the same issue.
  24. If you have 1000 psi they work great, we only have 300psi in our older machines and the coolant fans out at high rpm. It actually hinders the coolant from around the spindle from getting to the tool.
  25. Allied will make just about any point you want, we have a spade style custom tip made with multiple steps on it that goes on a regular drill body.
