  1. When you load MC9 I think in the process the install can search for files then up-date them.
  2. Ahh now I understand! Can you just make the arcs in the proper Z positions then contour the same way. ( That's what I orgionally thought you were trying to do ) My bad!
  3. quote: Select incremental for your depth, should read 0.0 in the display box. check the box called "make pass at final depth" in the ramp selection dialog box. +1 Also make sure your circles are in the proper Z position.(Did someone say that?? My apologeez. Don't mean to be redundant) Anything you add in Z (Z-.100) MC will go that much deeper! Make sure Z0. is in the box. The next time you use circle toolpaths or contour it might prompt to Incremental keep an eye on it!
  4. quote: The parts have a variety of holes from .125 to about 1.0 inches A variety of holes? like 3 axis or a variety meaning variable bore? Peter quote: Bootleg V9.1 from Ebay, XP Pro LOL HA HA that was funny!

  9. We have over 1,000 employees in this facility. and about 10% of them are on computers (100?). This is actually the first place I have worked where the IT guy knows his stuff. "Credit where credit is due." My IT guy is pretty good. i.e. servicing the network where it doesn't affect engineering/programming. keeps me uploaded! I almost got into a fist fight with our last one! +1 on updates. I did'nt know how it could effect settings!
  10. Okay so now you guys know about Cheri..... Kind of keep it on the down low (Shhhhh)! I don't want my chick to find out! T.G.I.F. I have to work on Saturday... Dammit!

  12. DAMMIT F*ed it up again....
  13. HeavyMetal +1000 If this helps a little... *Right click on your Geometry from your contour. *Drag it down over your shallow parameters. *Let go of Right click It will ask you replace or copy? *Replace T.G.I.F.
  14. I have the same problem with *S.F.Contour.... Can you run a *scallop?
  15. quote: I can just hear their private conversations..."We will teach them a lesson for defiling ze CAD/CAM..." "He said it was crap!...let's kick his xxxx.." A couple guys still don't get it.... JUST VALIDATE YOUR STATEMENTS! When a new guy rolls in here still new to Mastercam and starts with their frustrations. Take a step back we are here to help. I have vented before. I'm also looking for a solution to my equation. I have gained sooo much just lurking around in here when other people's posts then I have from the MaterCam books! This has turned into a pissing contest.... obviously somepeople are concerned about the size of the Johnson. None of the Veteran Mastercam users said anything like that. Vent a little if it helps... PROPOSE a problem, You will most definitly get a solution! T.G.I.F.
  16. You were talking about *Backplotting right? Is that what you were looking for? I set Cplane normal to you axis of rotation. rotated the geometry, Chained it for the toolpath. the Backplot goes around the part. Kind of... Sort of... I'm really busy, sorry I can't help more!
  17. I sent a file back to you... I'm not quit clear on the profile you are trying to cut. That profile is not in the model. Hope that helps. I put the file in JG.zip in the MC9 Folder. Mabe the Five axis "Rocket Scientists" can be of better assistance.
  18. quote: Hey chip, that is a nice mustang. Glenn, everyone keeps saying that! I have yet to find the Mustang!
  19. Sooo, you have the part kicked up at whatever angle and Z Normal? Are you trying to identify your stock? Visual results in Backplot? e-mail me the file I will take a look at it if you want. Going to lunch now.

  22. quote: That's one of the greatest things about this software company. They truly care what their users think and will actively pursue changes for improving the product they develop. That's rare in today's business world. I absolutly agree. That's why it's soo frustrating to see something like this: quote: Is the verify in X going to be the same crap as 9.1. What is Wrong?! It's almost a knock on the designers of this software. Mine's not perfect, It's come a long way from crunching a small swept on an ol 256 that use to crunch for (sometimes literally) hours. Jay he left last year.
