  1. Gotta say though... I kinda miss Heidi in the upper left corner all day everyday... Laying there...
  2. One of my favorites is Dynamically rotate (mouse button) Hold alt down automatically (while in dynamic rotate) and she pans. Like Jim said... Sometimes the jobs are needed right away... I don't have time to fumble around in X when I can have code in (in a fraction of the time) in V9. Version X is definitly getting more smooth. I still find myself using SW instead of creating surfaces... There are a lot of us here we will hopefully bring eachother along though! TGIF
  3. The only time my computer locks up is when I'm running Version 9 and Version X at the same time. I can have a bunch of programs open. i.e.: -Explorer -Cimco (...D.n.c.ing) -Solidworks 2005 (on screen 1) -MasterCam X (on screen 2) -MasterCam editor -e-mail I can toggle back and forth between screens... I'm impressed with X so far... If I have Version 9 open. Some functions in Version X lock up. (my allocations might be a lot in Version 9)? Stevieboy, Are you using both softwares at the same time?
  4. I can't find your file... mabe e-mail I can take a look.
  5. A 256mb with a pentium 1 processor running windows 95. Always had good luck with them. You keep hearing of all them glitches all these guys are having with XP. Naaa Not me. I hope you got the Seimens control and not the Heidenhain. I never got used to the Heidanhain. Dekel Maho Gildermeister is a good machine. I've seen some of their 5 axis stuff. (with the table moving for Z+ Z-.) Also tol. for those machines are quite impressive. I've held tenths all day with endmills. I'm running a Standard Dell, Pent 4., XP Pro, Decent Video card. My I.T. guy bumped up the memory and she runs pretty good. Do some research you'll find what works for you. You should be alright.
  6. parameters page. bottom right corner.
  7. Try and run your filter. See if that helps. Hoperully it will change your spline (points and lines) to arcs for code.
  8. Ohhh ya... Welcome to the forum! I learn lots of good stuff in here everyday!
  9. We have a renishaw (T6?? something... the machine is running and I don't want to stick my head in there). At the last seminar here in LA. I saw previews of surface programming and checking or anayzing for measurement. As far as Pulling numbers off of a part. They (mitutoyo or other high dollar companies) have a scanner type digitizers. like scanning your part and it (the scanner/digitizer) creates geometry. then once you get your info. I guess you could design or "reverse engineer" whatever you have to make. I'm guessing a mold?
  10. quote: Funny how Mr Randle XX ran outta this thread with only his diaper on! I'd like to see some of RandleXX's programs.... It's got to be a UN-thought out plan. If he F's something up.... He trys to use an excuse: MasterCam is to blame!
  11. I can try to look at the file also if you don't come up with a solution. Without seeing the file. Did you try placing the points at the finished depth. *Toolpaths *Drill *window points Set depth to inc.
  12. All these are valid... I work for a company that has 1000 employees and is 4 buildings thick. Everyone (of importance) has nextel's. It's definitly a necessity. No one would find anyone. I would like to obtain A machine soneday... My shop... No cell phones. This company I work for didn't get to be how it is now by quote: ooooops.......your right. Wasnt payin attention, was on the phone I don't want to be like the big day dreamer either. The only way I get paid is getting $HIT done. Not talking about it. That's my 2 pennies!
  13. On Florida I would try my local re-seller.
  14. Definitly not allowed... If you absolutly have to, They probably won't give you too much grief.
  15. Load it! Everyones doing it!
  16. I'm not sure what Hardmill is asking for.... CadCam is this what you needed? Seriously.... I hope the people in Florida are handeling thir situation!
  17. chip

    Coolant

Cimstar (Pink) We cahnge it out in every machine once a month (sometimes every other month)!
  18. WOW! Things have been so busy here.... I haven't had too much time to even use this forum... Now that I may start needed help here again, I see not much has changed! HaHa! I haven't missed much have I?
  19. Andris, If this is any help. http://www.turbo-performance.com My uncle Bob owns this company. He does a lot of mail order stuff... Turbos are cool! Lots of work... Lots of plumbing. I decided to not run turbos (or a turbo) cause the cost for start. They seem to be getting more and more popular. Tune up's are hard to do on my car too. I was gonna spend $8-10,000 on a turbo kit. Then I would have to spend another $1,000 on a dyno tuned chip! Is that Digital Fuel Injection working out on the car? 8 lbs seems quite mellow for a (twin?) turbo. I'm running 10 lbs. (with an aftercooler) on my '03 mustang GT that's my daily driver. I dropped the compression a point. I'm running CP (california pistons) forged pistons. I re-valved and match ported the heads. I made 447 RWHP! I can pull an '03-'04 Cobra in any gear at least a car. It runs good!
  20. Scallop.... This mold I used scallop to finish both cavity and core... This mold is 18" x 15" AL. This mold is a pump (I tried to find something with high walls) to referance to the "alternator fan" 35" x 30" stainless. You can kind of see the scallop pattern.... It's a great toolpath for fine finishes!
  21. Andris. I curious about your hot rod. I can't get any pictures to show on the site. http://www.skulte.com/turbo.html
  22. +1 Ron. I find myself trying to also do as much 2d as possible with 2d machining. (based just on the looks) I would run it (like Ron said) surface rough to get the 'matl out of the way. then maby finish the floors (between the blades) with a pocket. then finish the draft on the blades. If you have the machine time run a finish scallop. It will come out bitchen. Solids to Surfaces. Building (for me) nothing beats solids. toolpaths I find myself using surfacess. I can trim an create surfaces faster than when I toolpath solids. Again all preferance. Some of the people in here run solids the majority of the time.
  23. I checked out your parts... Mabe somewhere something in your solid geometry/toolpath was deleted. You have A LOT of stuff going on. Unfortunitally, I think you just have to go through and rebuild the file.
