  1. I drew the Platter for a HR310 in SW. Your welcome to the file if you want. It wouldn't be much to draw the rest of the fourth axis. I started with a HR 210. Then we got a 310. It's not much different. (I tried uploading it on "Cad-cams FTP Site") couldn't get uploaded. I can e-mail it to you.

    BackPlot

Jay... I struggled through the update. I must have some settings not correct! It seems to still be backplotting the tool on the wrong plane. As usual, We needed parts Yesterday.... Any help would be appreciated. My dual screens are the reason for my horrible screen shot.

    BackPlot

I'm still struggling with getting decent settings on backplot. I'm trying to get some 4th axis toolpaths. Backplot rotates the part into the proper rotation. The tool is still the wrong view. Do I need to change settings? Can you guys share more settings. I still can't get this to work properly.

  6. Building Molds... We don't store ANY .NC files. We only care about the geometry. (.MC9 .MCX files). Soooo if the machine control (Which is pulling the 0 from somewhere) defaults to a 1.NC I wouldn't mind! Seriously in my .NC folder I have 1.NC 2.NC 3.NC... We are constantly overwritting these files. If we have to make repairs to a mold or something we just POST what we need. quote: So far, all of my bitches have been addressed and on the fix list. Damn... I only get one! How do you have so many?
  7. I was running an insert the other day. square part, half rounded cutout with an embossment about .100 in the lower quadrant of the part. I ran a Parallel in Verson X verified well. Looked alright through roughing. the finish (parallel) GOUGED my detail. The file is well (no funkey surfaces anywhere). I took the exact same file. saved as Version 9. made the same toolpaths. Perfect! It's funkey stuff like that... That I'm struggling through! (There's more too).
  8. I think it works well enough. Dealing with plastics (I don't know the benefits of other types of parts in the industry). If I import a SW file and its a Mold Base Assembly (EJ half, Hot Half, Inserts, Cores, etc.). I have to work with each part in MasterCam. Normally I keep the MBA in a file. Pull individual files (Save As). and bring that part into a machinable position in MasterCam. If MasterCam prompted before I brought in into MasterCam where to set the orgin (i.e. Importing toolpath groups and operations). I don't know that it would benefit me if it was 30' off centerline. What gcode showed me is a good feature if I were to design an individual part. I was to give it to another programmer.... He could then bring the file in ready to machine. no questions on which side is up! I'm sure these features benefit others somehow someway... I had an incredible time trying to get my boss to spring for Version X. let alone purchase another add-on for a translator. Him knowing full well were running just fine in Version 9. The translation is good and accurate. Lets see if we can get the rest of our crew efficient in X!

  10. Lots of good stuff on Plunge milling! http://www.emastercam.com/ubb/ultimatebb.p...t=013264#000000
  11. Good links... http://www.emastercam.com/cgi-bin/ultimate...t=012926#000000
  12. You the man! It helps... I always draw my assemblies in Front. I usually have to rotate the components a few time to get them machineable. Helps though. Also I never used Binary. Seems to transfer the same.
  13. quote: If you use parasolids, you can also build a coordinate system in SW , export it with the parasolid and control how the solid lands in V9. No more translating and rotating to match your solid up with your V9 WCS Hey gcode.... I was Un-aware of that... What do you set in SW?
  14. Hey... It happens! Plastics, plastic engineering, designing of moving parts, electrodes, compensating shrink and overburn, slides moving parts, shut offs, crazy parting lines, pockets, inserts, core pins... It's a tough business. I've been let go before. Not to mention he was the worst boss I ever worked with! Now I get to design a lot (I just designed 4 molds in the past week) in SolidWorks cut in Version X. My boss now is (I hate to say it) alright! I have had other offers. I would lose a lot of design control. cut the way I feel is the most efficient. Ya we could use some help every now and again. Point being... You could be the best programmer. If you can't get along with the crew and the person who puts food on my table. It might be best to just move on! Good luck Code! Here's to lookin out!
  15. I'm sure we could work something out! You'd be suprised... i.e. When I started running that MMouse.dll. I thought that was the best thing since superchargers! All these funtions make daily life a little easier.
  16. Come on Bulliness... Bryan.... Work your magic! http://www.emastercam.com/ubb/ultimatebb.p...t=011282#000000
  17. Who was it that created all those bitchen chooks and some cool macros? Was it Bryan(It's been a while)? Where did he go?
  18. quote: Why can't I select it and right click-delete? Now that would just be too easy... huh Thad?
  19. Seriously... CodeBreaker Glad to hear you found something. We are always looking for qualified Programmers/Designers/Electrode Designers/Machinists/all around shop personal. Sorry I couldn't help you out. If you're ever out here give a jingle!
  20. That's actually happened to me a couple of times... I have opened the file on another computer. I'm not sure why. If I try opening it again on my computer. It (my computer) recongnizes something as corrupt. I put it on the network and opened it on a second computer. It usually opens and just whatever made it crash is corrupt (i.e. a UN-generated toolpath). It's only happened a couple of times. Good luck!
  21. Seems like they (MC Designers) move it almost every Version. I use that function almost daily!
  22. My previous view doesn't work. The other views work. It won't go back to the previous view.
  23. What's Version 7? Set your Z depth to "0" and change absolute to incramental. Drop your points in 3d space to the proper Z depth.
