  1. Does anyone know what .ge3 is from. I have the source file and need to open it.
  2. Had a guy come in, was having a problem with a tapped hole. Decided we needed to go from a cut to a form tap. Told the mill guy to change the drill and tap to correct drill and tap. He looks at me and the leadman and asks " Are you going to have to reprogram that for those tools?"

  6. Someone on the board figures this out so I am just passing it along. It is perfect for holes. (Dimeter of hole - diameter of tool) / 2 x .4142 = Y Put Y in in length and radius and 135 degrees in sweep. This has the tool come down in the center of circle every time.
  7. I give up. I'm trying to drill deep holes thru a blank of aluminum. .70 deep with stub drill, then go back thru 2.9" deep with jobber drill. if I set retract to -.65, top of stock to -.65 and depth to -2.9 it works except there is know way to clear chips off drill. ( .123" drill) If I set retract to -.1 it starts drilling at -.1. Is there any way to start at -.65 but retract to -.1
  8. Any way you can draw the part back some. Welding on A-2 with out drawing it back produces alot of stress in the part. Plus, as you have found out it is hard.
  9. quote: Conventional cutting works the best for slitting if you are not doing that already. Very true. The part you have already cut helps keep tha saw from walking and binding up. You might try using a Kool mister. This gives you the air to clear off the blade plus coolant.
  10. I have set up my posts like Chris. All of our Fanuc's seem to get lost from one line to the next without the G90 in the WCS line.
