We have 2 going still
Like everyone else says
A board pukes one day and the next board
you get looks like it came from
a deep sea salvage operation..
I would take a pass..
Were replacing them with Hurco VM1's
as they Get more expensive to maintain.
I would take a pass on the M's...
Fonts a plenty
http://www.fontfile.com
You have to select "install the font(s)" in
Your O/S directory Where MC looks for them
(.ttf) Winnt / system32 / fonts
something like that.

I Do not use Auto Save
I have alt . set up as Save (Through the cfg.)
Everytime I make an important change or step forward in my programming I just roll my
fingers forward alt .
I'll Decide when and what we save Mr.
Check the Samples that came with the
Software. They are in the mill 8. directory.
That will give you an idea
of what the "New names" are.
Flowline in vs. 9.0 is the latest way I tackle that situation.
My mom worked part time at a Factory running
the Mimeograph (sp)? in the front office
she got me a job there in the back.
$2.50 an hour min.wage
They had the Leather belt spinning
over our heads thing going on.
They ran production So that lead to drilling
and milling which got my foot in the door for the next place down the road.
They are still there today and I bet
you could replace 75% of the work force
With Robotics.
But then What are all those people going to do?

I would honestly have to say my worst post
Was just the other day when
Rjoyner asked about a speed and feed and I
Blurted out some junk and the next day
Realized he was talking about tapping!
of course the speeds and feeds are odd numbered!
(Still too fast though)
GUILTY
Tony
With bullnose cutters
the program can be about a 1/3
the size of the flat cutter program.
Sometimes I still use flat anyways
because I dont want to have to
go back in there to pick out the .020
The bull left behind.

Here is how I make electrodes
Start a New .cfg /name it Carbon etc.
(As not to mess with the Original model)
Sketch on P/L
pick C_L
select mid point
create relationship Dimension box size (Carbon)
Extrude Z directions
Un check Merge result
Now you can Roll back the history tree and
Suppress cuts in you carbon model
(Watch parent child snags)
Insert /feature/ combine/subtract.
(Un check merge result)
Etc.
No Books, just 5 Solidworks Disciples here.

Very nice & Congradulations!
You know a while back (1989) I brought my
Newborn into the shop quickly on the way home from the hospital!
1/2 the shop loved it!
The other half freaked out
"This is no enviroment for a baby"!!!!
Once again congradulations Mr& Mrs Millman
Or What.
Call me old fashioned but that's to fast.
I was raised with the "Save the cutter" theory.
Also 249 at 9.8 (Non nominal) tells me
Something is calculating this for you..
You could slow it down there,
or at the controller to experiment.
Edit: Some controllers have a minimum speed
For tapping, maybe you cant go any slower?

If he was hired for a specific job
and he can't Do it that is one thing.
If he's a trainee thats another.
Ask him where he went to school
Because you want to make sure not to
send or hire anyone from there
Also, Where's the new guy donuts?
