  1. I can't take credit, I'm sure I got the tip right here on the Forum shortly after X came out. Just passing info forward.
  2. Right or wrong, If it doesn't do what I want the 1st time, I close the chain and create a point outside the pocket to lead in from and use regular pocket.
  3. by the way, you can create slice geo even on a surface model. (iges)
  4. Solids work much better for creating curves from but even so alot of times you get splines. I only create curves on the stuff I want to cut. After the creation, do a edit simplify on the geo. If it still doesnt clean up, I might up the tolerance, but usually end up re-creating the parts of it that didn't convert. Slice geo works better then edge curves. Hth.
  5. Analyze-Analyze/database-click on geo, select toolpaths box and it will put a green mark on each op that is tied to that geo. Love this feature.
  6. Thanks for saying that Crazy.... Same boat here. They have to know... Problem is.... I don't want to switch to a diff package. But I've lost all credibility with mngt over this.
  7. Don't forget the Transition Guides.
  8. or edit the start and end angle of the circle.
  9. Ok.. so how do you guys handle a turned part that next op goes to a 5th axis.
  10. Same Problem here as well. Very Sad.
  11. Thanks for the replies. I've tried it with the wcs with no luck, but I could be missing something. If a person could edit the matrix of a view would be nice, but I think Robert's idea has merit. I'll send it to my reseller, see what he thinks.
  12. Yup.. got that, but we have several types of 3+2 machines. Haas Trunnion a = 4th(tilt in y) b =©rotary around z at A0. And Tsudakoma's A=© and b = tilt in x. So to go between machines I always end up rotating my geo 90 deg (to align with my tilt) and recreating my tool planes.. Is there a better way ??
  13. I've used it for simple stuff, but does it work for 3+2 ?? If I have 10 a-b positions would I have to recreate them in the new Wcs ??
  14. Flowline, gap settings smooth, tangental line length.
  15. +1 to crazy. I've seen this exact thing sooooo many times.
  16. Here ya go. HTH (.2087 CARB DRILL) M491 G28U0V0M721 G28W0 G28H0 G340T0404.A05. G368X0.Z0.B14.4 G97S1460M88 G98G0X2.Y0.Z.1438C0.M6 X1.2 G87X.6766R0.F1. G80G0X4.M7 G369 G28U0V0 G28W0M490 M1
  17. I agree, This has been a pain.
  18. WELCOME Max rpm, max feed that your machine will hold accuracy with. Plunge rate will depend on what type of tool your using. I've used anywhere from 20 to 120 ipm.
  19. 6 minutes 50 seconds Dell Precision Workstation 690 Xeon duo-core, 2.66GHz 3.00GB of RAM XP Professional
  20. My workaround, use sp1 to setup the solid stock and verify 1st tool, then save stl. Open Mr1, set verify to file and use that stl. So far its worked everytime for me.
