  2. +1000000000 on the PIMIJ weird things seem to happe nwhen you strat messing with WCs and T-plane and C-planes on mastercam. Crazy Millman
  3. Yeah I know May^Day and I appericate that!!!!!!!! I just hate it when I know I am doing soemthing right and it comes out wrong and well with the lack of apperication I am getting around here just more stress I dont need if you know what I mean. Oh yeah I wil be flying out to set up your machine in about 2 weeks to do this job so get ready. J/K they are missle tips for a rocket and someone didnt think they needed to have a smooth finish and really meet the customer needs of .005 total tolerance. I just have to shake my head and go WTF just another day in Pardise. Crazy Millman
  4. Nothing like diving in. All you can od is make a mistake. Make you soem sample parts in alum plate for startes cuase it cut the quickest and will show you how and where to make some start and stop and go from there. I would also contact your dealer in the area or who sold it which ever is the right one and ask them to coem in for a few hours ro give you soem pointers. If they want ot charge you say well I might can get thme to upgrade to 9.1 if you can help me show them that it is a good program cuase they must not think it is if they still have version 7. Good Luck and ask way alot of wire guys on here that I am sure will be more than glad to help. Crazy Millman
  5. That to me seem like a post mod more than a descriptor problem maybe I am wrong will reserve a suggestion for now and see what other say. Welcome to the Forum Great question!!!!!!!! Crazy Millman
  6. Well Andrew I have gone back and looked through alot fo your posts and can tell you are very sharp. I can say I am one to Bash our machines and will keep doing that good bad or indifferent. I am sorry I feel that way but if you take a controller that is pretty much the same since 1979 and olny changed it a little here and there and you are taking 5 years to develope a Windows controller that will be my best best for our needs does not make me feel better. Then have it told to me that if I want to do highspeed machining at anything over 200 ipm for them is outragious you need to go to a completely different controller then that will infuence greatly how I feel about that machine. I have Ran Mazak, Okuma, Fadals, Haas, Sodiek Wire, Star Swiss Screw Machine, Maho, Hyundia with a Siemens controller, and a Thermwood 5 axis router so I base alot of my commnets off of my personal experience as well as trusted people in the profression of not only machining but service, Sales and Manufactruing in a whole. If I make a manufacture mad but what I say on here they maybe they will see the importacne and making a better machine verses something that they can just get out the door to make money on. I dont claim to be the smartest guy far from it but I also cant ingore 17 years of being around and doing this profession and that is what I base my comments and suggestions on. Crazy Millman
  7. Eric if you go back and look through soem old thread I have seen this talked about. I will say that the g98 you are use t oin NC programing is now the clereance with the use and start and end unchecked. The g99 pretty much stays in effect if you only use retract. I do alot od different depth cavitiy casting and 3d models and use it in both ways to prefection. I will mostly use incremental retract set at my distance out then if I am cetner drilling or even drill like holes at 40 different Z depths I can do this in one operation using the clereance as my control where as if it is a falt one I do not use clerance. I hope that helps. Crazy Millman
  8. Thanks May^Day I got what you are doing there. I ended doing the same thing. I am just puzzeld cuase if you look at the verify of that part it look perfect then you post the code from that and it is not. If you look at the pocket operation that is 180 degree above the last three operation if has be done different that them to create the same effect. I then also found out I have a bad post and even a freshly installed MpFadal2 and still crashed through the part. I am having to use a Hass post to make the part and then had to modify it to support E fixture offset but still having to do crazy things to WCS and T-plane to get the part to come out right. The crazy stuff is what is pissing me off. I do front and back and have no problems but then do bottom and I have to do 2 operation one way and the 3 operation another way. I could understand if I had to swap all 5 operation on X axis to gte it to post right but to do a couple one way then the other another then that be different that front and back i mean WTF. Crazy Millman
  9. +100 Swiss Lube by Blasercut. You can also get a fish aquairm oxygen maker and ru nthe tube to your tank will keep the smell down also. Crazy Millman
  10. Here you go here is the web site to get a $2000 program free: FREE POSTS FOR ANY MACHINE EVERY MADE!!!!!!! If that doesn't work contact whoever you bought it from to buy you one. Crazy Millman
  11. Jay it is Alum 6061 and it a 2" round bar stock. I got the thing working went got me some lunch and came back with a clear head and got it working. That still doesnt explain why 2 of 5 operations work and 3 others have to be done so weird. I ended up taking the 3 funked operation and giving them a compltely different t-plane and c-plane that was 180 looking normal to the part at the bottom and that made it work. I just cant understand how 2 operation are different that this and do right and then these 3 have to be done this way to work. Crazy Millman Thanks For looking at it JAY [ 10-09-2003, 07:43 PM: Message edited by: Millman^Crazy ]
  12. Well just hope the next person in his place is a better person than him and not really off the deep end. Crazy Millman
  13. Ok here is the situtation. I have the part I am making it is in MC9 as 7 4th Axis.Zip on the FTP. I have in the past taken my models and just turned them to the top plane and machined them from there. You will see them on different layers. I have heard so many of you tell me the error of my ways and I have been listening. I took this part and said what the hell. Well my problem is that it verify's perfect and look like a dream but its posted out code for all of the bottom plane paths with x in a minus direction. Now I am concered cause I then took and turned my WCS on these toolpaths to be at the bottom and then did this for thee T-plane and C-plane and it worked good for 2 of 5 operation making the Z right and the X right. Now here in the problem now my Z is wrong on the last three operations but they are done the same way. WTF is about all I can say it does fine on front and back but not bottom it also verifys in Verify perfect but does not post a program right and I have Use Haas to MpMaster and still get a funky things. I of cousre have the part promised by other people to the customer last Friday and since I am here pretty much for free are at the point to take this freaking computer and see what a 4" facemill will do to it. I can go in and start playing with C-planes and other things but maybe in my averagation at this point just not seeing something. I would ask those of you kind enough to take a look at this to please point in any direction or point out to me my mistakes and glady take that from anyone. Again thank you in advance for your help and time in this matter. Crazy Millman
  14. Life is just a dream you see if it were real then it might hurt to see what really goes on around you some times. Crazy Millman [ 10-09-2003, 07:39 PM: Message edited by: Millman^Crazy ]
  15. Well I would ask them do they want to play with the big dogs or just play with the puppies. It opens up so many possiblilties that it boggles the mind if you go after complex 3d parts. Let me see 2 axis parts that I can get $5.00 a piece to mavhine and have to do 1000 to make any realy money or one part that I can $10,000 dollars for. It will also make your life easier which will in trun amke them more money. I hate to use the again but it is like do they want to be penny wise and $100 dumb or do they want to see a real big return in the investment. 16. Andrew is going to be your best resource on here May^Day. Hey where is Jak and Harryman they would have some good insight also. Crazy Milman still signing his favorite sonng Happy Happy Joy Joy
  17. Sorry May^Day t obe coming into this so late was here 15 hours yesterday and had 40 hours xxxx of yesterday. As per my Salary I am workign free today Tommorrow and Satuerday again so that is about 40 hours I just took up the a??. Never mind that. I ask with this machine you are still going If you are then you also might want to look at the Rooldie dicussed about 3 weeks ago. I will dig thru this computer at work but think I have the examples I got from sorry but cant rememeber who and send them your way. I will also say if you are doing thses parts the way I think you are you will want to stay as much away from solids as possible. I can here the masses screaming now me MR solids fan say dont but yes stay away from soilds use only surfaces as your drive and make copies and put the on seperate layers and call that layer check surface and dont mess with them. I think you will see it is a little work but will pay dividens in the long run. Verification here is the most important. I was never lucky enough to show the people I have worked for this is the right way to go about it but I promise you it is even if it does cost $5000 dollars for the software. I can tell you this Imagine putting about 20 or 30 hours in a part and be almost finish and then bammmmmmmmmmm. There is not 20 or 30 hours gone there is 40 or 60 cause you not only lost yout intinal time but you also have lost that time getting back to where you were. If you go by our very low give the work away rate of $50.00 and hour that one problem just cost you $6000 this more than pays for having the right program in there doing what it suppose to. I have soemthing I am trying figure out right now I have lost about 10 hours with the thing going right through a part in the middle of an operation doing a complete 4th axis part. Well May^Day I am now jealous you got soemthing that will atleast move the head I dont. J/K hey I got these part that are 42" long by 20" in Diameter finishing at a .09 wall thinkness that need the outside a Class 2 Type 2 finish for andoization. You machine is the only way to fly and was wondering if you want 40 pcs to do. Oh yeah here the kicker you have got to do them for $500 a piece well cause that is what the owner thought it would take didnt thin khe needed to ask me about it. Ok I will shut up. Bad millman Bad Millman are you crazy or soemthing. Who me? Crazzzzzzzzy Millman just smiles and sings his favorite song Happy Happy Happy Happy Happy Happy Joy Joy Joy Joy Joy Joy Joy Joy Happy Happy HAppy Happy Happy Happy I promise about 10 verse of this you fell all better. lolol
