  3. Ok I undersatnd wht I have secuess soemtimes and not others I do the transform rotate so it keep x the same whre as I so the C-plane I do make the Axis swap so I do have to create C=plane which relate to the t-plane right or I have to grab the WCS to make it work wirhter way will work but still have to take in account the postion of x,y,z relative the the face ofthe part as how will be looked at ni the axis of rotation to the top machining or veritcal position. 4. +1 on Phil and most time when you do this resize upon exit Mastercma will keep that size. Welcome to the Froum if not greeted before. Crazy Millman

  6. Well you all keep thinking I am kidding when I put the Crazy. J/K but seriously you would be suprised what the human body can go through and still keep ticking. I was meesed up pretty good but If you look at me now cant realy tell I was in a wreck and I was very very lucky and I thank God everyday I can still take a breathe. It was a good 6 months of physical therapy and other fun things before I went back to work and about 2 years before was anything like I was before the wreck but like they say what doesn't kill you make your stronger. I have always been the rock in our family so the Mental was not the hard part the Physical is still tuff soemdays but better that not being here. 8. Was wodnering when you were going to pop up been thinking the same thing. And yes it would be a perfect candiate for rolldie if it were a contiouns cut but it is not so was wonering who to make it do tooldie with rotary postion change back to rolldie then rotary postion change. 9. Have you looked in the Config Settings been a little while since I ran V8 but thought you could select that back then also. Crazy Millman
  10. GMS1 in cimco edit you can put 2 files vertical next to eash other like 2 posts so you can compare. Go to window tile vertical and make sure you have 2 files open and away you go. Crazy Millman [ 10-16-2003, 01:05 PM: Message edited by: Millman^Crazy ]
  11. Well I can tell you the changes I have had with finding my favroite thing which is filter. Cleaner looking surface and better looking parts all the way around and not the studders I use to get the other pre/arcfilter find. I am running a 2200 surface part right now that has 3 1/2" flat areas on it the whole part the rest is all curved surfaces ad nthe part is about 10" diameter and has to be optical clear acrlicy when it is all said and done. Crazy Millman
  12. Surface/finish/flowline all the way. If up against other walls or features sue them as a check sufracc. Crazy Millman
  13. Yeah Thanks Carlos been having the same freaking problem finnaly went back to my old turing the model method makes for some edting but I know it works. Crazy Millman
  14. Ok May^Day dont make me send you to that other fourm for Bad behavoir. J/K Crazy Millman

  19. Yep Contact the dealer and they will send you a post Cd at a very low cost. Crazy Millman
  20. If you really want ot be creative you can set up many config for different things like tall parts, Z0 on the bottom, Z0 on the top, highfeed rates starts for aluminum. When in the config set up also you have the ability to pick the default tool libary as well as the spefic tol to come up in every one of the operations for the control. Just soem things you can try. Crazy Millman
  21. Yeah May^Day a perfect candiate for this is bondo. I would pick the outside and do the part complete from the this side but for example say it is 4 inches tall I would use 4-1/4" material and make the whole outsdie complete but inside of a block with extra around it like 1" around it. I know this sounds like a real bitch but I like to think of it like a part captured in supeneded state. You will now have like a complete outside of a part captured inside of a box so to speak. I like surface rough pocket for toolpaths like this and also surface/finish/scallop for the finish. Beging it is 400 SS I would alighn all point ot start and drill a hole in the corner. I would then put me 2 dowel pins for location and then you can fill the void with bondo. Then you mill the part flat to the surface created before make it all flat. Now flip and use some wedge clamp or what ever you have and to hold it down but still give clereance on the top. I would then do a complete milling on the inside leaving the .05 top and anything that might cut it lose till last. Then when you have all of the surfaces finish to your liking then cut it loose. I would then take the whole thing and pull it off and break it loose from the bondo. You are lucky it is SS so the bondo might stick but break off as much as possilbe with pilers or what ever then bead blast the part and it will take off the rest. If you are looking for a preminum finish then you can get some 400 or 600 grit and polish it up. I hope that helps if not my number is on the company web site or email me you number and we can chat about it. Crazy Millman And just an after thought if it is real big part is to it vise versa inside first then the outsdie to maybe elimate stress that will come into play here. 22. Cool Beans Try-On I copied that if in the off chance I ever get a CNC lathe again or go to a place where they have a CNC lathe. Thanks for sharing. Crazy Millman
  23. I do alot of Plastics, Ren Shape and Aluminum here. Can get away with alot of things you cant in hard materials. You also have some good points and with the flow dyanmics you keep with those toolpath you are correct. It would also be good with the materail you are machining to apporach it with a toolpath that would be safer in nature. I also use the surface/finish/contour but I find for the fine detail that we are trying to achive alot of the time that the scallop is the best all purpose finish path that I can leave unattended. I got a toolpath cruching over night tonight with a .002 stepover that will probaly be 70mb. It is a clear acrylic master model that has to be a optically clear finish when done and I hate hours if not days off hand work if you know what I mean. Crazy Millman
  24. Thats cool CMR I might d othe same part this weeks end out of soem 450 Ren Shape expect I think I will d oa .002 finish pass. with a 1/8 Ball. Another little trick after you get it all roughed in and you want to really get all the crisp details use a falt endmill and scallop toolpath with a .003 to .005 stepover and run it think you will be suprised how well that foam will look after it. Crazy Millman
  25. Glad it helped Lars but keep what has been said cuase it can cause the problem listed. I got a part cruching toolpaths right now figure it will take 14 hours to cruch the .002 stepover on the finish scallop toolpath I am doing right now. I think it will be upwards of 70 mb toolpath with the filter on so you can imagine the fun. Crazy Millman skippy do da skippy pe day my on my what a wonderful day.
