  1. Great suggestions Trevor I will put them to the group and see what they say. Thanks for the feedback it is appreciated. Can we get the file to help development if they decide to look into this?
  2. Yeah I can understand that, but it cool what we can do and just wanted to show it to others.
  3. I wanted to say thanks to everyone downloading these Videos. I am working on others to post up and when I get them done I will post up those videos. :D
  4. Sorry you feel that way Jeff. I am trying to earn a living and if my boss feels people are watching then he feels I am doing my job. You can put a fake name if you want, but it helps us track effectiveness of doing things like this. So far 20 people have looked at them so that is very cool. I tired posting them on you tube, but seeing it was going to take 1400 hours to load one to you tube I had to it this way. Cliff notes are I can align to a part. Then using the 3 external points I can move the arm to a different side fo the part and pick up those 3 points and the system will them jump the arm to that new position while keeping the original alignment active and no extra work is needed. The GagePlate is a plate that has qualified points in it. Same concept except you put the probe into those points and it move the device through the whole plate without having to lose an alignment to a bigger part than the arm can reach at one time. It is pretty neat and cool stuff so I thought I would share what are some things Verisurf does that others may not be aware of.
  5. Everyone, here are 2 Videos I did showing how to use the Master3DGage with 3 points. These could be pucks, center drilling points in a part on a table or anything. 3 Point Grid Lock Also there is a Video talking about the GagePlate system we have that allows you to increase the volumetric range of the arm. 6. He is correct someone updated either Verisurf or added our free tools. In the MBD toolbar you should see an icon for it. Sorry you do not like it. I really enjoy the ABC along with the XYZ showing the relationship between the Axis and their Rotations.
  7. I think it might be Mastercam Error. We share some resource files for names that is it. How about trying to uninstall Verisurf and try it again and see if it becomes a Mastercam error. If not then please send us the file so we can investigate. Sorry you are seeing this and hopefully it is not something we are causing. Please email me if you keep seeing this problem.
  8. Wow Verisurf can do so much with this. We can fit prismatic shapes and create surfaces and help you make solids from there.
  9. Well seeing how they are one in the same not sure what asking here. We have a partnership with Moldplus and work together to offer MBD. What you get with Mold Plus is what you get with Verisurf so there is no better or worse. We talk about this all the time and using Verisurf and when MBD is in the Model the tolerances are used for inspection. Complete process from Start to finished using CATIA then importing it into Mastercam for the manufacturing using the translator to bring in all the MBD. Lastly if you go as far for use Verisurf with an Inspection Device you then have the paperless approach for inspection. Terms get throw around all the time. CAD(Computer Aided Drafting), CAM(Computer Aided Machining or Manufacturing), MBD(Model Based Inspection), CMM(Coordinate Measuring Machine) and I want to introduce you to one I have come up with CAI(Computer Aided Inspection). I think the future for Manufacturing is CAI and the more companies that look to software like Verisurf for that capability the more that will see the paperless environment become easier and more a reality. Hopefully I answered your question and if not please feel free to email me and I will be glad to expand on what I typed here.
  10. Guys this is a great addition to Mastercam as a system. The added A, B, C rotations is real nice for multiaxis work. With the free-tools you also have a quick way to also rotate the WCS just like Mastercam rotate expect the naming of it as you do it. Here is how you access it: Then in here you can name the WCS and put the angle you want in the dialog box. Enjoy and if I know Ernie if there is way to add the options you listed he will see that is gets added.
  11. See it helps to read. Dohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Sorry about that guys popping in between teaching class. Reading is key reading is key.
  12. Hum we used it and liked it. Ran the last company I worked for only with Job Boss. Always got updates and prompt customer service.Sorry, but your decimal problem sounds like someone not doing their job when ordering. We always have the material length on the first line of every traveler. Inspection always buys off on all P.O.'s and if the Traveler says 24.375 and 24" is on the order then the person ordering is not paying attention and the person checking it is not paying attention. When you make your tags in the Job Boss system and check their progress on the portal you have one open for 5 years on the same problem?
  13. Well there is lies the problem. Renishaw is meant for collecting what you got. Trying to do something with it after words is the hard part. If you had Verisurf you could collect the data then bring that collected Data into the Mastercam file and we could show you the true position quicker than it took for me to type this message. You could try collecting it and using the macro variables to maybe store and average point of each feature. Then use the average point of each feature back to the nominal. Then make some spread sheet that does some math for you, but sounds like a lot of work. With Verisurf we would just take the points you got show the difference. Then you could best fit all the data back to the model and see the results real time on the part inside of Mastercam and done. With what you got will take some work. Oh and do not forget the smaller you make the hole the more Max Material Bonus you got. The larger you make the hole the less Max Material Bonus you got. HTH
  14. Well it went very well.Had 3 people not even Mastercam user come and were sold. If things go well looks like we might have 8 companies coming on board with Master3DGage in SoCal soon. WE plan on doing more of these I will let you know. Next month we have one in Portland with MCAMNW on the 8th and 9th of June. On the 21st, 22nd and 23rd we will have some of these in Texas. In July we have the HTEC event where I will be doing presentations with the Master3DGage. I will be at South-tec and Will Also be at CMTS the week after.
  15. If anyone is interested in coming by I will be at CCC's office tomorrow in Anaheim inspecting parts people bring in. We will also be showing reverse engineering capabilities of the arm and the Verisurf Software. CCC's website has their address and contact information or you can shot me and email. The morning one will be at 9:00am and the afternoon one will be at 1:00pm. CAD/CAM Consulting Web Site
  16. See someone ask for a toolbar and just like that they get it. Not bad for free tools huh?
  17. Chris thanks I have about a half dozen articles floating around now. I talked with some other Editors at the shows and looks like more might be coming. We will see not bad for a guy who can spell all that well, thankful there are good spell checkers and proffers in those magazines they make me look smarter than I am. LOL
  18. Nope they all grew legs and he feels I got better things to do than make some.
  19. Hello anyone that might be interested. Verisurf is a full inspection software as some of you might now, but we are also a reversing software as well. I have been looking around for an impeller to show some of the capabilities of our reversing tools. We have some great examples with Racing heads, Intakes, Exhaust and other items, but I am looking for a specific type of impeller. I would like for it to be about 6" to 10" in diameter about 2" to 3" tall and be machined with pretty thick fins 3/16" to 1/4" thick. It could be scrap and it would be great if you had a model, but not needed. (The model would help to show how close we can reverse engineer it as an comparison) I know a lot of different companies are represented here on the forum. If you would like to help out a forum member I would appreciate it. Now someone of you might ask what is in it for our company. Well you are more than welcome to engrave your company Logo and contact information on your part. I will do about 10 to 12 shows this year and I have already been in front of well over 4000 people this year. I am looking to be at a Canadian, German and many more shows in the US this year. It could be a great way to show your companies capabilities and get free advertising in the process. If you are interested please email me and we can go over the particulars. Thanks in advance to those that contact me and look forward to hearing from anyone who is interested. Have a good day.
  20. Yes it will work without MU1 with no problems. HTH Also this works with any active WCS so helps when you are creating a WCS that is not dynamic.
  21. Yes look under the MBD tab and it is there. We do not have a toolbar button since we use this as a toggle and not an use type function.
