Revere cut endmill to push it down verses pulls it up. On a that router you might at what I would call the ceiling and be glad you got there. I have done some pretty amazing stuff on routers, but at the end of the day they are a router not a full blown milling center. Might try some dynamic stuff to rough out slots where .25 endmill would go though using a .187 endmill then leave a .002 finish cut to clean up the edges at 4000 sfm and try the dynamic stuff at the max speeds and feeds problems is routers are great a long cuts, but the ramp up and down in feed rate needing to maximize some strategy like this might not be practical. Do some test cuts and see if you can get away with that and use it to your benefit. We were doing some high speed cutting on routers using a light depth of cut, but max rpm and max feed some years ago and getting some pretty impressive results. Really comes down to work with what you got or look to what is going to improve and help grow your company? HTH

Anyone running one of the these cards with Mastercam. Someone loaned us one to run through a couple tests and was wondering if anyone is using one. If so what are the setting you recommend for Mastercam? What have you found as a different between this and a Quardo FX card? Thanks in adavcne for any comments or suggestions?

That is where a offset surface like a blob from the stl like a filtered stripped down shape, close, but smooth enough to give the angles and undercut control you are looking for. What I was looking to do was slice the stl and then offset the contours smaller. Smooth out that to make a nice smooth shape. Then make a rules surface out of all of those. Now it would be a good surface to use for the normal. Sounds like you got it going, but yes this can be a task to get what you are looking for.

I would look at highspeed methods full depth of cut and maybe 3-5% step over with .0004 to .0012 feed per tooth and ramp up from there. HTH

If solids not really hard save everything to a file. Then call that file for verification and all items will be used for verification.

Amazing how what you give in life will come back to you. It is all good though because it cool to see ideas show up in the software I had an hand in. James, John and others thanks and yes it is a free tool, but we probably should charge for it thought I doubt we will. Here come sales knocking at the door ready to kick my butt. :wallbash: The work and effort it takes to maintain a stand alone install, along with testing and support of a free tool does cost Verisurf some money. It however does help people see what we are about and does lead to sales. We might be looking for some Beta testers soon so I will keep everyone posted once we do.
