Unless you learned how to do a lot of the things related to a machine shop right handed and use a computer like the rest of the world right handed. I have become ambidextrous over the past 24 years of working around machinery and computers.

I will try clear the air on this matter. The web site name where we had the free hole axis was taken with the launch of the Master3DGage. While there has been some transition there was talk of making the free product a chargeable product. I and others in the company thought it was only fair to charge a minimal fee to cover development and support cost since it is a free product, but we still get support calls and have to maintain it from release to release. While this decision was being made an influx of requests for it came through and conflicting information was sent out and Verisurf apologizes to those that were given those different comments. The decision is to offer what we have in the past for free, but we will be adding a new feature called Minimum Bounding Box. There will be the MBD tool that allows you to do full MBD dimensioning to models like Solidworks, CATIA, UG and other Cad systems offer with full Surfaces and Solid support of dimensioning. Additional features include adding and creating of GD & T through MBD methods currently supported in many areas of modern manufacturing. This MBD product will continue to be a salable product as it has been. The cost of this will be $100 per year. The good thing about this product is its direct integration with Mold Plus’ CATIA reader of FTA/MBD from CATIA files. With their translator and our MBD tool you can bring Native CATIA files into Mastercam and have the solid or surface model with all the relative MBD/FTA annotations come directly in and supported inside of Mastercam. The Catia translator will be something you have to get pricing from your Mastercam dealer for. Jay has so graciously agreed to help Verisurf by doing some videos and other things to showcase the product. Finally got my new password. Yes there is something new coming and Jay will be working with others to get it out there. One thing I can talk about is a new dynamic bounding box. It will see your part in Aircraft space and give you a bounding box relative to the part not relative to the c-plane. It will also create WCS that is then usable instantly without you having to assign it. One other thing is that it will also tell you the size and weight of the material needed to make the part. It also has stock adjustment on the fly. Details will be coming soon.

Well you will have to uninstall Verisurf and when you do the add-on uncheck the reverse when you do the install. HTH

Yes guys it does have reverse capabilities as an add-on. No reason to get rid of your arm to go with this one unless you guys want an additional arm for the floor. Talk to your dealer about getting just the software we work with a majority of the portable CMM devices. This is something being offered through the Mastercam dealers.

Well guys Verisurf has come out with a new Device only for Mastercam users. We have the Master3DGage Portable CMM arm and software we unveiled at the response was great this year at Westec. CNC software was gracious enough to allow us time in their booth to give live demonstrations. I did over 15 presentations while in the booth and everyone that seen this in action was impressed. Well imagine you have data fields from one piece of collected data you then want to filter coming in. That data has point_1, point_2, and all the way up to point_100. Excel sess point_1 and point_10, point_11 and so forth as all the same thing when using their standard filtering methods. We take the point_1 and then put into a Excel graph. When the graph sees point_1 it puts that and point_1o to point_19 in the same place not filtering them correctly. I am trying to get that to filter point_1 to the same place on the chart and point_10 to the same place on the chart for point_10 and now it does not. Trying to get this problem sorted out and everything we try keep messing up to the point_10 and so forth. Now the next problem. If thw information comes in Point_11 then point_2 then point_33 excel also gets lost because it was not collected in the order the reports want to see it. We want the report to see that arrange it correctly then use it to the fill out the chart any ideas to accomplish that. I know Zoober(Robert) was doing something like this on his X+ with tool numbers so I think it is possible, but not sure how to accomplish what might be an easy task for someone who know Excel much better than I do.

Anyone got experience filtering in Excel when there is 10 and 1. Problem is trying to get a filter to see 10 and not 1 when it is filtering values. Anyone got some suggestions or ideas how you could go about this when using and template file? Thanks for any suggestions ideas or tips.

Yes very easy. We have a surface point dynamic back to CAD this allows you to pick specific CAD points back to a model then have the specific surface normal then be the control for the results of the measurement. Case study from one of our customers. They are doing an intake for the JSF project. They have a part with not flat surfaces. They were having to cut the part then take to the CMM to see the results of that cut. Try to set it back up the same way take another cut then repeat the process until they felt like they got the part cut right on the 1st side. This could happen 6 times. Everything inspection on that CMM got halted and the machine had to sit and wait while they got it worked out. The only thing the customer had were Datum target points. Using our Dynamic surface point tool they pick the required points and now you can inspect to them report them and can met the customer's requirements. With Verisurf we put information in a database inside of the Mastercam file. We are finding that if the Sim gets disconnected the file Save that comes up will save all Mastercam items, but none of the Verisurf items. We are also seeing this when you close through the Red X in the upper right hand corner that the close abject is not triggering the save database part where we store out information to then be saved. We figure file save some will not access the database since it is more for saving CAD information and you get the association to toolpaths will be lost when saving this file. With Autosave activate it does not save all the information as well so using this does not help a customer possible lose hours of work if they forget to hit save, hit the red x to close or if their sim gets disconnected. Here is the question are there other save objects related to different ways you shut down Mastercam? If so what are they and what is the best way to incorporate them for Verisurf to save the Data the same Mastercam does through all these different methods in which Mastercam can close a file? Any ideas of help would be greatly appreciated.
