  1. Ok, I was an idiot and didn't look under the spindle in the machine def and set the min and max spindle speed correctly, got it fixed now.... I did notice in the mpmaster machine def, the x and y axis are under the mill spindle group instead of the mill table group, as they are in the other default haas 4axis machine def I was using before we changed to this new mpmaster. Is this the correct setting?
  2. Ok, I downloaded the mpmaster z2g, and extracted the files to the correct folders. Made the changes we need to the machine and control defs, and all looks good until we make a toolpath and select a tool. then we get an error about some of the tool parameters, and the spindle speed comes up as italics, and cant be changed. I tried to understand if I'm supposed to run the update_post dll on this post. I assumed first that you would have already done it to this post, but after getting error, I tried to run the updatepost and get a message that the post is already updated and wont be changed. What am I missing here?
  3. Your probably right gcode, it may very well be windows and not mcam that is causing the problem. If I minimize my mc window, when i open it back up, it takes a few seconds for the menu and toolbars to fill in, but the graphics background pops up quickly, maybe i have too much eye candy running. I have a dell precision 450 dual xeon 2.8 with 2 gigs of ram, quadro 540 128meg, etc so figured I had enough power to leave windows alone...
  4. I have black background, quadro 540 (i know, low end...)with 91.36 drivers. Have back buffer disabled, etc. Everything works great for me, its just the progressively slower loading of secondary windows (like the colors window)that is bugging me, not a show stopper, but would be nice if it didn't act like this...
  5. So no one else notices X getting slower and slower as you work in it? It seems to be a rescource thing, sucks up all the graphics memory and doesn't release it.
  6. I noticed in X, and now in X2, that as I'm working in it, things like the colors window start opening slower and slower until I have to restart MC. It will get to the point that when I try to switch colors, when the colors window pops up, you can almost count the colors as they fill the box, instead of all loading at once. This is really irratating, hope it can be resolved, or I guess I will just have to reopen X 10-20 times a day...
  7. Did you try saving the files in x1 format? There is a choice of which version to save as.
  8. Guess I should add that I never tried the MC one....
  9. I have the moldplus one, and it works great, no problems.
  10. I have had this happen when trying to delete temp files before also, and restarting windows and deleting them before opening mc has fixed it for me.
  11. lol, Winnie, now rereading my post, I'm sorry if I sounded offensive. I have been and always will be a beta tester at heart. I was running mc3.1 in a window when windows first came out, so I could dnc in the background. I have run every version of windows when they were beta, etc. And I've always been around others that wanted to stay in the safe zone of whatever the previous software or operating system was, so I get a little defensive when people make out like its a crazy thing to do. I do keep and eye on things, have firewall, antivirus, and adware type tools running and up to date, etc. as you should, but have never been really "hurt" by running betas, and I'm usually the answer man when others finally start running the stuff.
  12. I have been running ie7 and media player 11 both since early betas with no problems as far as mcx goes, ymmv. Yes, I know all the horror stories the winnie types like to tell, but like it or not, we will be running ie and media player in one form or another, if we like it or not, since they are both fairly embedded in the operating system. Yes I use firefox also, but am not afraid of Microsoft....
  13. If your origin is out in space somewhere, you need to click on a piece of geometry to rotate about.
  14. I have had the moldplus v4 and v5 translator for X for months, so ya its out.
  15. I'm almost thinking that would make a nice avatar for me.....
  16. Get your toolbars where you want them, and then go to toolbar states and save as a new name, or over one of the existing ones and make it default. Then if your bars get messed up, all you have to do is go to toolbar states and double click to move them back to where you want them.
  17. your loosin it pap.....
  18. If I'm not mistaken, Ernie doesn't work for Verisurf, he owns it.
  19. I for one was just joking, I thought his reply to the caps thing was a little overboard, but I would have just ignored him until he changed his tune a little. Thanks for popping in to defuse the situation guys.
  20. Yeah, in the past I have always repositoned the part to where I want to start, but we do prototype parts and we get new geo in all the time during our tool builds and changes after the parts are tested, and it has become a lot easier to leave part in car position for merging in new data, etc. WCS is great, I couldn't work without it any more, but I kind of liked the way it worked in 9 better than X, but realize we are moving on and will have to adjust to new stuff.
  21. Ok, I knew all that, but thats where the "being anal" part came in, I didn't like my files cluttered up with all those views for geometry creation if I didn't have too. Once the tool hits the floor, the guys are creating more views for positioning and tool planes etc, so unless I take the time to name views it can start to get confusing in a month or so when changes come in and we revisit the file. Thanks for the help Thad
