The old computer took a crap and now the new one won't dnc with the m32 control. It will load a program but only till the buffer is full then it kicks it out. I don't think its machine related but maybe a computer setting, but not sure. Any help would be great the machine is getting severly backlogged now.
Just alot of tool pressure is all. You will have to set it so either it is right when done the first time or right with spring passes. I thread alot of 17-4ph ss and 300 series and that is always the norm. I will take .013 a pass and get good results on repeating as long as I repeat everything the same as the last part.
I like to squash to just above my part like to .01 or something so in an iso view it is easier to separate the problem chain from the rest. If you can post it to the ftp I will try to help.
I like to use bounding box on my letters with a dif color have it create the center point. That way all I have to do is window my text move to where needed and delete all color. (whatever your bounding box color is)
If it round or odd shaped you may have to createcurvepartline. This will give you a sillouette (sp?) of your part. Alot of times curves need some fugding to get them all to chain.
Yep the guys around us are switching to work nc for surface machining like nobody's business. It is pretty slick. The main reason is stock recognition. Cutting molds it would save alot of time when having to tilt cores ect to get to all the sides.
Your part would be easier out of rectangle. I looked at it again the diameter of 3.75 stock won't make the part. If you create an arc on the ends the centers are shifted. check it out.
I would just cut it out of a thicker piece say 1.75 and then flip it over and deck the .25 inch off the back face after all your machining is done. Could just move the jaws on vise and do it in there (clamp from ends). Might want to run an idicator across it first to make sure its flat. Oh now That I said all that you are going to use round stock oops my bad. I round I'd cut stock couple inches longer and clamp on the ends. put flats on ends and work off of those.
Inserts to? Just wondering what tools I should have on hand. I can see a set of drills but where does the line get drew on what the shop supplies and what I should supply?
Yep I think drills disposable tools are the shops responsibility not the operator. If guys are misusing tools then fire them other wise get him the required tools. I would not stock my own drills to make your parts and then have to beg you to get me another one if it breaks, thats rediculous.
Jack I'd take em if the offer is open. I have a neighbor shop that can't get theirs to work for nothing, I guess. He said they can send mazatrol back and forth and thats it. I'd like to help him out if I can. thanks Gary
control is a mplus he said
Tiny arcs will usually come out worse than just leaving it a spline. This way at least you can set a linerization tolerance on the toolpath itself. Makes for big program though.
