  1. well uninstalled all of X7 and codemeter, deleted all folders, and defragmented my hard disk. Started a fresh install and it did not give me a choice on installing the codemeter. can i just uninstall that? or go in my administrative tools and dis-able it like rocheey1?? Was this covered somewhere in the stickies?
  2. to late, at least i know why i am getting errors trying to open X7. thanks Tom
  3. i may have missed this, but why is codemeter installed with X7? for the Hasp?
  4. i use control but stock model does not work in "control". i have been oscillating between the two as well. Tom do you guys not use re ground end mills? we do and it would seem there is a greater chance of the wrong offset entered if an operator had to measure a tool then figure out how much under it is, as opposed to just entering the actual diameter. (we use diameter offsets).
  5. i'm talking more about my operators (which also do their own setups) picking up their xyz zeros and tool offsets, but i know what your saying
  6. that's a nice control but currently we have Fadal or Fanuc control. i'm trying to keep it easy on my operators. is there much of a learning curve going from a fanuc to the osp?
  7. hi guys, looking for some advice from here on which machine tool to go with. we are replacing a fadal 4020 and looking at the two machines listed. they both come with the same control Fanuc Oi-MD which we will upgrade to include the AICC II 200 block look ahead. both will be equipped with the chip blaster thru spindle coolant and chip conveyor. the difference comes to spindle horsepower and travel. we are leaning toward the Feeler costs slightly more but heavier machine longer travels more torque/hp and 2 year std warranty on both the control and machine tool. what does the emastercam community have to say? Feeler: spindle:25 hp spindle chiller std torque: 117.7 Nm (87ft.lbs.) travel: 43.3 x 24 x 23.6 xy linear guide ways z box ways Hardinge: spindle:20 hp spindle chiller opt torque: 114.Nm (84ft.lbs.) travel: 40.16 x 21.25 x 21.25 xyz linear guide ways
  8. this is what we are using, http://www.discussoftware.com/ not sure how it compares to Inspection Xpert, i have our QM looking into it.
  9. i had an ex sales rep tell me to stay away from them. i don't think he was dis-gruntled, he's with a different company not selling machine tools now. jm2c
  10. Doug we are considering switching to Qualichem Xtreme cut 251C, any thoughts on this coolant? we currently use a full synthetic wallover ws 8065c.
  11. or check into ph horn. these are an inserted type cutter http://www.hornusa.com/
  12. +1 what Del said 1. Fanuc 2. Makino (cost more than fanuc) 3. agie, charmilles, or sodick
  13. G, what browser are you using?
  14. WCS, but once you understand it... cool.
  15. cimco will open it. i just started fresh with the mpmaster for x6 and tweaked that, works great.
  16. did you mod your post from the standard 4 axis mill post? if so and you have Cimco Edit (comes with x6) you can open both files and do a file compare and change yours to match the original in those certain areas. make BACKUPS FIRST. hth
  17. read thru this http://www.emastercam.com/board/index.php?showtopic=57946 also latest release 9/24/12
  18. so your not using the standard mpmaster post? or you've modified it? try downloading the original and see if you get the same results. i use the mpmaster and have not encountered this.
  19. does it switch back to G94 and then back to G93? if so you will not have a F on every line.
  20. Charmilles doesn't have any? i have bought one from them in the last January, p/n 970309. I believe a service tech told me years ago that there are some jumpers at the back of the drive to switch between 720k and 1.44mb.
  21. check out this place http://www.calmotion.com/usbcnc.html
  22. i believe you can even turn off the sequence numbers
