  1. 2019 to 2020 was painful. It did expose some problems on my system with Windows Update though (which was a good thing) and forced me to update my video drivers. 2020's been stable though for me since getting the installation squared away. However, it takes over a minute to launch. I looked at the log and there are no issues there. With the specs on my rig, the launch should be near instantaneous. Dell Precision 7710 Intel Xeon CPU E3-1545M v5 @ 2.9GHz 64GB RAM NVidia Quadro M5000M w/ 8GB RAM Samsung 970 VO SSD @ 1TB Windows 10 Pro
  2. Smells like "... we've always done it that way..." to me. That is the WORST reason to do something IMHO. Not a fan of COR programming anymore either. Too many things to fight with when functions exist to make things much more simplified. Like G68.2 for example. Which you can get on an HMC BTW. It works pretty awesome too. Easier than G54.2 once set up properly.
  3. @Boo If I'm reading this correctly, you want to use a Horizontal Area toolpath and force it to start from the outside. Is this correct?
  4. Yes. That is correct. A little while before I left CCCS.
  5. BT/CT dual contact (BigPlus) is my preference. Not to mention MUCH better holder availability in the US...
  6. Done that once or 5 times. I'll usually add an M98P9901 (or M98P1) before the M30, that way it will wait (if running a multi-pallet system) if there is no work ready.
  7. The important thing to remember with the Auto Power-On feature, you MUST leave the machine in a condition that allows for a cycle to run in MEM mode. i.e. all doors closed, e-stop(s) released, main power on, tool magazine door(s) closed, etc... Anything that will prevent normal operation of the machine will also prevent Auto Power-On from functioning completely. If any of those things are out of place, the machine will power-up, it just will not warm-up.
  8. Translators "to" english seriously suck. It would REALLY be nice if eMastercam could require either a country, or a native language field when users register so we can try to figure out what is actually being asked. Now, back to the matter at hand, like Colin said, @jjmac6686 and @EL MEKHCHIyou guys need to put some work in yourself. We're not here to do your job unless you're paying. Otherwise, we're more than happy to help you put your finishing touches on something, or explain how a function works.
  9. You won't have to worry about a post processor or simulation/collision checking software as it comes with @CAMplete Solutions Inc. TruePath software which is phenomenal software. And EASY to use. You'll have local (Minnesota) factory support, and Productivity is the dealer and I've only heard stellar things about them. The control is a FANUC 31i-B5. If it's a touch panel screen it could be FANUC's Panel i Operator Screen, or it could be FANUC's iHMI. The latter being FANUC's latest operator interface. What the interface lacks in "oooooo shiny" it more than makes up for in features IMHO. Most Matsuuras innthe US come with G43.4, G54.4, G68.2, expanded MACRO variables, 1GB Dataserver, and a bunch of other stuff. It's been a while since I've run a Mazak, but I'd take a number of machines over it, Matsuura being one of the machines I'd take over it. JM2CFWIW
  10. I use an Iscar spreadsheet I acquired a number of years ago or Helical's Milling Advisor...
  11. I think I was at CAD/CAM Consulting when I first signed up. I was member 53 or 58.
  12. I agree. However, the powers that wish to keep the machine at a certain price point continue to do battle with us.
  13. Pretty much none. "Maybe" CNC Ad Zone is older. All the rest came afterwards AFAIK.
  14. Same here. On a 386 with a seperate math co-processor and dual floppy disk drives and 2MB of RAM IIRC even. 2D swept, Coons are both toolpaths that produce CLEAN tool motion and I use them still.
  15. Wow! Digging up a post from WAY back in the day.
  16. And some of them are emotional.
  17. As usual, there's A LOT more to that story... Like hack spindle rebuilds for starters, then customers going from cold spindle to 20k with no warmup, using sidelock holders at 20k... etc. Those were the lions share of events I saw. Once you get above 18k RPM, a lot of things change and what worked at 10k, 12k, or even 15k doesn't fly at over around 18k.
  18. I'm partial to this solution. I wrote this solution here back in 2004 and it still stands to this day. Easy prazy, lemon squeezy. Though with the 30i Series, you can use file names up to 32 alphanumeric characters (DOS rules apply for file names). This is a long topic but a good read nevertheless. "Tape" mode... I NEVER use it. There are better options available.
  19. Can you post a picture of the operator panel and display?
