  3. Thank you so much for taking the time! I do have flowline. For sure will try it tomorrow! The check surface under is a great idea too!
  4. thank you, this was exactly what I was looking for!
  5. Still using X9, living by access keys (not keyboard shortcuts), as I've been doing it since 1995. Nothing is faster.
  6. Ditto ...This Friday is my last day 11 year run , 100% automotive our customers " well give you work ,If you move to Mexico " ouch. New gig is pretty diversified in all the fields. One more time , here we go I have one last run left in me lol Good Luck Sharles !
  7. Looking at your file, the first operation seems like it could be simply a 2d contour. But that's not what you are having trouble with. To get rid of the Z plunge, you might have to make a flat plane surface underneath the drive surface, the radius of your ball mill below and use it as a check surface. Consider trying flowline toolpath. I am pretty sure you'll have that in X7. You might have to break it up to a couple different operations if it doesn't find the flow on all the surfaces together. (You might have to flip normals on surfaces. If it doesn't flow at all, you might have to upgrade a few years. By 2022 (and earlier? but I forget when) there are tools to flip U-V of surfaces as well. But you might be able to re-create your surfaces and get them to have better U-V flow.) In any case, my guess is that flowline will get you a better toolpath along the length of the neck, and probably the other areas as well, even if you have to do multiple operations with a smaller selection of surfaces.
  8. logitech g600 and a space mouse enterprise are my go to. the g600 allows for 24 macro commands in just the thumb buttons.
  9. I have a logitech g600 and use all of the customizable buttons for a variety of common commands.

  12. im trying to create some involute splines using the gear c hook. i use mastercam in metric mode, im assuming the gear dll is imperial only as when i measure the drawing after creating a 20 dp 15t 30 pa gear,(thats what my local gear cutting toolmaker measured the tooth form to be on a shadow projector even though the actual shaft splines are 25 tooth and 27.4mm od), its under 1mm od ? is there a way to correct this without converting all the parameters to mm ?
  13. Is anyone here using this combination? I have a file transfer issue I am trying to resolve, and Cimco aren't being that helpful The issue is when sending the file back to Cimco, Cimco isn't receiving it, but leaving it in the "holding folder" because it isn't being renamed properly. I suspect it is a name trigger issue, but I would like to check the settings if possible.
  14. The other issue is I don't have access to X7 so I am unsure what toolpaths you have available. But if you post a file/model others might be able to help you. This place usually pretty dead over the weekend, so probably won't see much until tomorrow.
  15. Thank you. I'll try raster. I like Scallop because I can get the shaft and transitions continually and produce a smoother cut. But what do I know... I can share a file. MC file or model? Thanks again!
  16. Hard to tell what your geometry is from the picture. Can you share a file? You might be trying to do too much with 1 toolpath and it may be easier to break it into sections I would try a Raster for the straight section of the neck. Then use a Blend/Pencil/Flowline for the transition area.
  17. Hey guys, I've wasted so much time with this its making my head hurt! Please help! I'm running X7 and Constant Scallop toolpath. High Speed scallop is available but I can't figure it out. Trying to machine a guitar neck. Constant Scallop sounds like the best option given my limited knowledge. I've messed around with arc filters and redid the model several times but the toolpaths were still very jagged creating a lot of unnecessary code. Please see first pic. After several changes I came across the "sharp corner smoothing" which make the code a lot smoother BUT produced a weird Z plunge on one side of the model. Very strange. I thought it was a model issue so I mirrored the model to have 2 good halves. Same issue. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this? Thank you!
  18. Thank you. I noticed that the recommended settings for MCAM are 1920 x 1080 but when I change to this it makes everything a little blurry. I checked the slider as well to allow windows to make changes to this due to scaling errors.
  19. That's usually for the ops manager setting. I would try your monitor resolution settings. Accessibility Management in windows may be able to scale it for you also
  20. Good Morning Everyone, 1st time posting and hoping you all could give me some help. I just bought a new computer and after loading MasterCAM I noticed that some of the button icons are insanely small. Ive already tried the ENABLE LARGE ICONS option and it changes other buttons but has no effect on the ones in the image. Has anyone else experienced this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. This happens on all the pop up windows.
  21. What You can do is record the orientation parameter and insert g10 line to write it in the tool change macro and when you call up your tool you could write whatever difference you need to the orientation parameter.
  22. As expected. Every machine tool builder does it differently, some don't do it at all, and others it's an option. No guarantees implied or expressed. What you do with your machine is between you and your employer. I'm not responsible for what you do with this information. https://www.dropbox.com/s/n2gdvagukqzoxd2/FANUC Spindle Orient by Angle Procedure.pdf?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/i2lwpzmuahj8hyddl9jer/O9028.TXT?rlkey=adfa5pujdj7h12oiulevh7gvs&dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/ifwe8w08nnd24rpl5bf89/O9029.TXT?rlkey=l8ryh0ae1q66fb6pyp0nhxu56&dl=0
  23. This sounds like the machine has glass scales to improve accuracy. One of the scales is broken or has become contaminated with coolant and swarf. The correct fix is to clean or replace the scale. The cheap fix is to disable the scales. This may affect the accuracy of the machine, but will get the machine running.
  24. Greetings. Simple solution: Edit your set file to get output only for tool number and tool information. in ppost$ create logic which will call output from the set file and set it in your normal post output. To do that you need "target string" so post can know where to place the output if you like this idea PM so i can send you logic for the ppost$ postblock. Kinde regards. Ivan.
  25. Good luck seeing how this is a 19 year old post.
  26. I have a problem in my machine it's Toshiba BTD110 R 16 the alarm is ABS scale voltage low How to fix it
