In the Vidoe I paused it when they opened the Screen config file and there is no Toolpath allocation or Data base allocation YIPPY

A question when they create the first line they type in 0,0,0 I normally just hit O and it selects Origin can this still be done in X?

We tried to keep every shortcut possible the same for X, but some things couldn't be done, and this was one of them. Because we don't have a text based menu anymore, we can't do the shortcuts to the underlined letters (e-for endpoint, c-for create, etc.) You can still use the shortcuts to put the cursor focus where you want it; d-for diameter, r-for radius, a-for angle. Also, the funtion keys are all there; F1-for zoom, F3-for repaint....and they're customizable too.

 

The good news is that I don't miss the text based shortcuts at all, because X is so much more efficient with geo creation.

hey guys,

 

The closet you can get to pre-X single keystrokes is by using windows functionality. Hit the Alt button and it wakes up the menu bar underline shortcuts.Then Select C-L-E to create line endpoints. Not all the combos are the same but alot are.

Your right about the fact that you start to get away from the keystrokes though. We were heavy keyboard junkies and have started to break the habit with X. We would have never guessed that they are less important now but that's exactly how it's playing out..

I use the keyboard alot esecially Alt+E,A,C then type the color number eg:10. Or Alt+E, A ,A Has this been lost in X?

Now I finally believe that X is not VAPORWARE!!! [big Grin]

The new features are pretty cool.

I especially like the post processor editing tools.

I just wish I could take X home along with the cloth bag and decimal chart.

I thinks it is funny that Hardmill takes the time to do the research and compare my past posts when you all know I love to bash X just to STIR THE POT! Does Hardmill actually work? or?
