Have any of you played around with the Save/Load Mask capability?

Roger,

I thought it was neat when they showed us that feature at the roll out seminar. The files that we use don't get involved enough to make the extra mouse click worth while though.

Typically, I only use All-"entity" or All-Color-??? The masks that I would save would be the same as what the menu offers. biggrin.gif

I can see where it would be a time saver when the work warranted it.

Thanks for the C-hook.

I have it mapped as a keystroke and then that keystroke is assigned on the mouse.

I have a logitech Mx500 mouse that has 5 extra buttons at variuos places.

Front button right thumb = Enter

Back button right thumb = Alt O

Button in front of scroll wheel = Home

Button behind scroll wheel = Select all C-hook

Other button behind scroll wheel = Translusent on/off

Anyone else set-up like this?

Should give it a try its a real time saver. cheers.gif

It's really not that big of a deal. I'm mostly frustrated. I do have a hotmail account ([email protected]), which, of course, I cannot access here at work (the firewall filters out web based e-mail), but I could download it at home and put it on a floppy. This place has the tightest computing security I think I have seen so far, at least of the places I've worked, including Boeing, Vought, Bombardier and several small shops. Thanks a lot, I think I'll go home now.

If you are interested….

I’ve uploaded a new version of the AllResult C-Hook to the Forum FTP site (ALLResult.ZIP).

*** You do not need this unless you want the new functionality. ***

AllResult now has a second function…

It can process the mask you have saved in the mask file named -> MY.MASK

You save a mask as you usually would. Just be sure to name it MY.MASK

Note:

‘ALL’ masks are an additive function. Meaning of you already have entities selected, processing MY.MASK will select all entities that match that mask, but does not clear the selection of entities that were already selected.

So as not to lock you in, I implemented (a bit of a hack) to allow you to alter this behavior. You can edit the AllResult.FT file and make this new function clear the selected state of all entities prior to processing the MY.MASK mask.

You can do this by altering the PARAM value ->

# If 'PARAM 2' is set, Clears ALL currently selected entites first

# If 'PARAM 3' is set, does NOT clear any currently selected entites

FUNCTION CPP "SelectMask"

CALL_FUNC "m_main"

PARAM 2

SBMP 18016

LBMP 18017

TIP 2

END_FUNCTION
