OKK Machine Tools

Has anybody ever had any experience(good or bad) with these machines? OKK Machine Tools. (www.okkcorp.com)

I have been told that they are "top of the line Japanese machine tools" Any input would be helpful.

Where I used to work has 5 or 6 of them. Great machines imho.

We have several, one of them one is a 20+ year old OKK 620 that is still running strong, We also have 2 newer VM5'S and a VM900. Our 900 and one of our VM5's has the 12000 RPM 50 taper spindle and I am a little disapointed with the spindle on them. With the 12k spindle you loose the low gear and it seems like it takes forever and a day for the spindle to speed all the way up and slow back down. It also makes them weak for cutting steel. If your shop runs mixed metals (like ours) the lower rpm 8k spindle is the way to go. A real big plus for OKK in my book is that the service from our area reseller has been top notch

We have a few of them, fairly older-ish, but still running very strong.

 

In total 4 verticals (MCV-500, 520, 800, 820) and a horiz. (MCH-630).

 

They are work horses and have lasted many years, from what I understand.

I used a VM7 BT50 bigplus spindle 13000 RPM.

Solid box ways. Very rigid and accurate machine. I can't say anything bad about them.

They make a gr8 graphite cutting machine too.

2 VM9's

2 630 horizontals

1 50 taper Twin Spindle

 

There are more vm4's and vm7's in the other shop.

We have 2 OKK HM-600. We bought pump for trough coolant for one of them. But, my problem is that, I don't know the M code for trough coolant...

Anyone can help me? Please...

We have 29 CNC machines and 3 are OKK ... two VM-5, and one VM-7 ... good machines, can't go wrong ...

Id contact OKK, I know you said you bought a pump

but does your machine support one ??

Assuming so G & M codes can be machine specific

and are not also the same. Hopefully one of

the guys here will be alble to help you out.

We are down to 6 left 620 520s 800. Some are 25 plus yrs. old and we got a lot of good parts out of them. Now its fixing them is not worth it and parts are hard to come by any more.
