all 3d paths are included with 2d for single surface selections
i also would go sweep, heres a good video on sweep that camInstructor made https://blog.caminstructor.com/cutting-3d-forms-with-2d-toolpaths
Sorry, I too do not have 2020 installed anymore, in 2022 & 2023 it cancels the the merge and deletes the solid. Try dragging the new file in holding the CRTL key.
You can make a back-up copy of your un-edited Control Definition, Machine Definition and Post Processor. Put this in a directory where you can locate it.
Here is a video on how to make a copy and rename an existing Control Definition, Machine Definition and Post Processor. If you want to rename the changed solution to an new name.
In general, if you are talking a "5-Axis Lathe", you are better off purchasing a Post. You're not going to be successful trying to just add 5-Axis Matrix and Vector logic to a 4-Axis Mill or 4-Axis Lathe Post.
There is no generic MT Post I'm aware of. They all cost money, and you must go through your Reseller or an authorized 3rd Party Post Developer, to source a 5-Axis or MT Post.
You're not using canned cycles here.
I don't know what the M73 and M140 do for your machine, but if you put an M0 after the M06, it will stop the machine after the tool change (M06).
I agree with millman though, you should contact your dealer so they can get you dialed in. They can easily make the changes you want.
About the edit issue, I found that it was related to the plane manager specifically (not really toolpath manager).
To be able to edit 3D tools components, plane manager needs to be docked with settings panel.
This wasn't from a PlusK but I can attest to Robodrills being solid.
6 axis Robot arm loading 1/2" thick alum bar into a robodrill.
16,000 RPM at 200ipm plunge and 150ipm contour feed.
Robot misloaded and the part was hanging off the end where it plunges. Made it through the part in Z then tried to side cut.
Made one hell of a noise. Hit the side then flew out the front door.
We fixed the side panel.
