Yes, the Data Server is on the option sheet also. I know the manuals will likely answer most of my questions, I just don't have them yet....TRYING to plan ahead just a little.
Thanx for all the info.
Cuda,
For the moment, the plan is to use this machine for roughing out forging dies, and then move them to one of the two Mazaks for finishing. We did get the 10K 50 taper spindle, so finishing with this machine is also an option.
R.O.Y. I know about updating from 9 to X, was just wondering if the V9 version would work til I had a chance to see what I needed to tweak.
What part of Cleveland you from? I grew up on the West Side, near Lakewood.
MpMaster is kinda what I wanted to do but I need to make sure i can get this machine up and running ASAP. It's only 4 months late getting here, and we're buried in work that was scheduled for this new and larger machine. Will the MpMaster run right out of the box?
New machine hits the floor tomorrow, a Sharp SV 8045A. What i need to know now is ... Will the generic MPFAN post From V9 be sufficient to get started with the 18i control?

Gary is just trying to make them aware so when someone downloads the update and posts to the forum, and customers with no web access start asking questionsIf they have no web access, how will they know someone is posting in the forum?
Sorry, just couldn't pass that up!
Murlin,
Whatkind of scanned in surface models? We do forging dies, as I think you do to.....For me, XMR2 is a godsend over V9..... We use Faro's LaserLine Probe to gather data, Geomagic Studio to convert to surfaces. Excellent system for what we use it for.
Cool new feature, but, How do you make the program stop to actually inspect the tool?
Force Retract every (X) mins. Code output is "G0 Z(Abs Clearance Plane)". I'd like to add a M01. Is there another setting linked to this feature or would i need to do a post edit? I'm using a V9 Post updated for X?
I see this on a fairly regular basis from one of our customers. Parts are modeled as a solid in ProE, converted to STP or IGS, and opened in Mcam. Nothing to do but fix it and move on. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with surface normals when exported?
