  1. If the door safety lock is stolen, you could already be changing part at the same time the machine is changing the first tool at the end of program. It is faster that way I just hand edit the code when I need it.
  2. Could someone from CNC- Software comment on the situation, will there be MU for X6 or are they actually going to go straight to X7?
  3. Cimco Just look how Cimco cares for their customers, already two bug fix updates for their HSM toolpaths for X6 and they also say what has been fixed. Thats what I call customer service. This is what CNC should do with Mastercam, starting right now!
  4. Being the biggest, CNC- software probably has much more customers paying the maintenance than the competitors. They can keep the maintenance charge low and still get the same money.
  5. They should bring back service packs releases to fix only bugs.
  6. Also if you have lots of material over the part, like a casting and use the cast as your stl stock, you still need to use depth limits otherwise the optirest path start at the depth where your part begings not seeing the excessive material.
  7. Power select is something I will be using alot. Thanks!
  8. 2d HST peel mill is also broken in X6. If you use WCS the peel mill toolpath goes over the lines you chained, it only work on top view! This actually forces me back using X5MU1..
  9. 3d Optirest not seeing stock above the part (have to use depth limits) and If there is open area in the middle of the part the Optirest toolpath cuts one depth of cut in one side and jumps to the other side to machine that same depth, this happens in every depth change so very very much air cutting is happening (I have the optimize cutting order checked)
  10. Because it's deviating from exactly following your instructions. Some people may not want the machine to think for itself. These kind of people should not be using cnc machines at all. The machine is following the program more accurately and faster with look ahead turned on, who would not want that?
  11. I never knew I could get it to machine both ways, learned something new today! Thanks!
  12. Change the ramping motion to plunge, it will feed to next depth of cut at both ends of your chain, so just chain one side of you part or draw a line in the middle of part and set the compensation off.
  13. Extend over the surface edge is also missing in 3d high speed toolpath, this is one reason I still regularly use old style finishing paths. For roughing the high speed toolpaths work quite well. X6 download has now been "temporary unavailable" for three weeks, why isnt there any explanation of the reasons in Mastercam.com, eventhough there is bug in the first release that might scrap your part?
  14. Im going to threadmill a pipe thread next week and need some advice. So I just drill it to smaller thread hole diameter, feed threadmill to final depth and cut from there?
  15. Create boundary c-hook gives you more accurate profile.
  16. yes, I´ve seen this too. Depending on the tools what you use in those operations, it sometimes generates but the step over is still wrong.
  17. There was/is a problem in MPMaster post that did that and it only did it when you used G05.1 code. Someone also posted a post mod that fixed it but I cannot find it anymore.
  18. Sometimes I need to align 3d surface parts that comes from an Cad program to an existing file with some changes in it. These parts are usually positioned differently and I´ve been moving them with 3d translate using the three entity mode. Its not very proficient way because every time I need to do it multiple times to get the part positioned right. Is there a easier way to do this in Mastercam?
  19. Like Thad said, invert selection is a good tool in these situations. If the toolpaths are slow to calculate in surfaces, they are propably even slower in solid machining.. I machine quite big 3d mold parts and eventhough we have solid licence, I still end up converting them to surfaces because of the calculation time.
  20. The only problem is that it only affects to the files that you work AFTER this change, the files you have made earlier and saved will still have the arc setting in quadrants and you have to manually choose the "new" same named machine definition from the toolpath manager..
  21. You were in the right place. Go to the machine definition and from there you can access the control definition and make the arc setting change.
  22. If you run big or complicated parts, machine sim is so slow to open that I have gone back to using verify. IMO, It is quite badly integrated to Mastercam with all the functions working differently.
  23. Im interested about this product too, how usefull it is and what kind of control it needs to fuction. Could I use this with Fanuc 18im-b?
  24. So if I copy that .dll to a computer that has X5 but not SW2012, would those files open?
